LOL, after we primered it that flat black and put it in the sun to make sure it was ready to be painted we decided to just leave it in primer until January or February. When we paint it we're going to paint it that same flat black color. It looks really good I think.

And yeah, that's a trans cooler up front.

We're using Methanol which has about exactly 1/2 the PE of regular fuel so you have to use almost exactly twice as much of it, that's why the A/F is 4:1. This tune-up on a gas engine would be something like 8.3:1.

I am surprised you got Bailey to tune it with the MFI.
I will keep my BS3 with the Methanol

The tune we had in it yesterday was actually the baseline tune that Alan will setup for you when you buy the unit from him. The computer will actually do most of the tuning for you once it gets some logs in it, and you can tell it your desired A/F ratio. It will compute the algorithems and make the changes for you. Once you've got the baseline tune you can pretty much tune it yourself based on the plug readings and MPH.

Don is mainly helping us with the ignition side of things.

I had an interesting convo this weekend with Don about the MFI. The BS3 does the same stuff plus we didnt need to purchase a data recorder.

Killer passes for the first weekend out.

Yeah, if you're building a new car and don't have a Racepak yet then the BS3 might be better, especially if you're just planning on having somebody very experienced tune it, but we plan on doing a lot of tweaking ourselves, so the user friendly part of it was very important to us. And we had already spent 10k with Racepak. LOL.

Looks awesome!

Why do you guys (and others) hook the tow strap to the top of the cage instead of the front bumper? Seems like the dude on the 4-wheeler might get a lung knocked out of that strap breaks. Couldn't be that much heavier to run a little tow hook out of the front bumper (or is the front subframe not strong enough?).

Tuning your own stuff really is the way to go. It's great to get baselines from people, but the way racing is going these days if you can't figure some of this stuff out on your own and do your own tuning you'll always be in second place.

The one piece front end doesn't leave you with anywhere to tow the car from except from through the windshield.

Actually this is Ben v2.0. I'm new and improved and 40 lbs. lighter than you remember me. When I saw Paco at HRP a few weekends ago he thought I had been smoking crack. WTF.
