discount tire i just went there because i found a screw in my m/t d/r
got up there its in the middle of the treads so i knew it was ok to patch, i had the wheel off the car...showed it to them and the guy tells me we can patch a drag radial...i said WHAT? why not he said because its a drag radial....i proceded to inform him that its a DOT apporved street tire not s slick and people daily drive on these....he told me they couldent do it

I had it happen before but the reason was that the tread was to low. I told them thats the way they are and to look at the wear holes or whatever you call them and they still would not fix it. So i went to another discount tire and they didn't say anything just fixed it.
mine arent quite touching the wear bars...i think the guy just didnt wanan do it...yes i was telling the manager all this...they told me to go to the messican shop down the street because they dont have any rules to follow
and no i wont do any plugs only...ill do a plug/patch though

Hey I work at NTB and we arent supposed to patch Z rated tires.
I usually do though, cause most Z rated tires we get in are on an F-body, mustang, or sports car of some kind, and I always treat them extra nice.
If its a ricer though, I boot them out the door. haha
Hey if you take it to the NTB by hulen they should do it and if you are going to do it shoot me a PM and Ill make sure they patch it for you. Plug patch combo and its free.

Once a tire has been repaired, it "loses" its speed rating and is "technically" not safe to be driven above 99 mph.
They were probably just covering their ***. I would have turned you away too, b/c I care about your safety.

i work at NTB in denton. right off loop 288 in the home depot parking lot. i'll patch it for you on saturday. i'll have to figure out what time i'm coming in and leaving cause i have to take a final from 2-4. but like a previous post... the tire does loose it's rating and i wouldn't race it in the quarter mile. just the eighth. and i can do a free balance too. let me check tomorrow and make sure i can do it for free. we usually charge $20 if it's not our tire, but i can probably do it for a "friend"
