personally, both engines are fast, **** the LS1 vs LT1 bullshit, I heard that an LT1 holds the 6 Speed record and if it hasnt been broken already im sure it will be but Ive seen LT1's and LS1's run just as fast as each other. Buy what you want. LT1 will cost less and you can dump more mods in it. LS1 you will spend more money but there's not much you can do with that stock block. My LT1 block was bored and stroked to a 388. You can get alot of cubes out of an LS1 but you also have to think about the LS1 being all aluminum. I loved my LT1 and didnt even want an LS1 but I did the swap because the aftermarket industry for the LS1 is bigger and itd be easier to get bargain parts. Back in the day you could get LT1 mod parts at great prices and find them everywhere, now, youll most likely be buying new **** for that LT1.

No they dont know. thats just another reason to get an LT1 if you want a panty dropper, bc for 7k you can get a pretty bad *** lt1 or for 7k you can get a beat up ls1. and no i dont understand your point. you're saying get an ls1 bc its faster and bc it doesnt have an opti? honestly. who cares. I have this H/C TA that I will likely never race, prob pretty damn pointless for me to even have to be honest, I'd be fine with a good looking LT1 car LOL
I will even bring it to you.

I once was in a situation close to yours, except that I owned an LT1 and all of a sudden wanted to get me an LS1, my reasons were different, I liked more the front end treatment the LS1 trans am got in 1998. I always thought I would keep my LT1 Trans am, and make it fast, I did work on my LT1 on everything it needed. But I had to let my LT1 pride go.... LS1 is a very much advanced engine in all aspects. I would convinced myself at times of the power an "Iron LT1" could make..... but in reallity the power that a "Aluminum LS1" actually made was far distant. Do not take my words wrong, I was very happy with my LT1, it made me gain knowledge and skills, and all that torque did feel good . I had almost every bolt-on on that LT1.... I don't think high mileage cars are bad, its all in the maintenace done. You can find a car with low miles that has been abused, lets say you find one with less than 30K..... now..... how many 1/4 mile passes is that???? Do the math 30K/4=???hehehehehehe!!!!! see my point? see what I mean????? It could be a 120k car that was well taken care of...... or a 30k car that has seen the track since it rolled out of the showroom.... choose what you WANT and LIKE, you are the one that will be in it, do not rely on your dad to make an election. My father always liked more my LT1 trans am than my currently owned LS1 trans am, I have owned my LS1 for a little over 6 months now, and let me tell you that it has put more smiles to my face than my LT1 did in over 4 years of driving it. Oh..... and chicks do dig more the LS1 firebirds hehehehe

I'm not going to jump in the middle of this lt1 vs. ls1 stuff.
To the original poster:
There are two (2) ls1 cars within ten minutes of me for sale. A MBM WS6 and a white Formula. I know the WS6 has a steep tag on it, not sure about the formy. If you're interested send me a pm. I'm in Tomball.
