I keep hearing to get one of these 25 dollar lawyer and they will take care of it.
I have a buddy just recently did this and he said that it was 25 dollars for the lawyer
and then the ticket ended up being 35 dollars and didnt go on his record...

Sounded great to me... My wife did the same thing on Bush there in garland, didnt know of the lawyer deal until after she did the deferred judification, and paid 220 dollars for the deferred judification.. It keeps it off the record, but man if we could of gotten away doing the same thing with a lawyer at 100 dollars tops.. Would of went that route.

Dude I would take it to court and see what they tell you there.. you will probably be given the option of taking the drivers ed course to take the ticket off your record it will cost you about $125... but its better than the the other options for your first time

For me it was $103 total court costs and $30 for the defensive driving fees.

Call any of the traffic attorneys listed in the yellow pages and they will tell you your options. I personally wouldn't sweat it.

My .02! Get a lawyer or go to defensive driving. Garland is really strick on there officers making court dates, even if the dates are pushed back a few times. My uncle has been on the force for GPD for 18 years and he comes down hard on guys missing court dates. Also the LT for that side of town use to live next to me and he's a pretty hard knock guy as well. Was it the unmark or a reg cop that pull you over? What did he look like?

Garland is strict about officers being in court.
I have two friends that work there, and the stories are unreal.
What I would do is "deferred adudication" or call my attorney
Everitt Newton or http://www.dallasattorney.com/
