Day 4 no cigs!
I am going to use some incentive for myself. I was smoking a pack a day if not more. Therefore I plan to now put 5 bucks a day into a jar and once a month deposit it into my car account. That way I can still have an addiction that is costing me money but it will go to more enjoyable things.
I once quite before for 4 months and like others one night started drinking and then bummed one off of a friend. One lead to two and then so on till about a week later I was buying some for myself.
The real kicker is my son being in my corner and telling me that if I start up again that he is gonna kick my butt. Even though his mom smokes, he doesn't like me doing it and I want to be able to keep up with him and make him happy.

Good luck to you guys. I smoked for 12 years and been smoke free for another 10. Try the nicotine patch if you can't do it otherwise. That was the only way it would work for me. Keep at it, its worth it!

My resolution was to quit for new years. but not till i graduate in march. that way I'll be able to isolate myself from it for at least a month. wanted to make sure that when i do quit i'll have everything working in my favor. My school is like 80% smokers so it makes it tough

It's no problem I smoked for 1 yr. Then I got a cold that lasted 3 weeks, that helped me quit. I didn't smoke for those 3 weeks so I figured that I could tough it out for longer. Now 3 months later I haven't touched a one. Just find something else to divote your spare time to.
I started smoking back when I was 14 but by 17 I was up to about a pack a day. Been like that if not more till now and I am 29. I did some simple math and figured out that I have tossed no less than 87,600 butts on the ground or into the trash. Back when I used to drink heavily or do lots of drugs, I smoked more. That is horrible to think of such a waste of time.
