where did you you get this info from??
as long as the headers have the air tubes connected & the cats on[no matter where they are located![not many places to put them on an f body] you can have longtubes there not against the law!! as far as being dumped you are correct as long as it is an enclosed cab [car, pickup with camper on it,without the camper shell it can be dumped!] the exhaust has to exit the rear of the vehicle!!

and i know we are not in cali but in cali you cant have long tubes anything aftermarket has to have the C.A.R.B 50 approval stamp on it to be legal

I have failed twice, but I was cammin' ***** with dumped duals/bullets and no cats. There's a penzoil station on 366 (Magnolia) in Port Neches that I go to now, but my exhaust is run out the back now. If you ever have trouble (which I doubt you will), I'll bring it by there and get it done, the guy knows me at this point lol.
I'll never fail A good family friend works at the Shell on twin city by the jefferson city shopping center and her passed me and always will

on a side note Im probably about to spay the SS

I think that having the doors closed because of the cold was the biggest issue. I don't remember them checking anything under my hood and I know they did not check the exhaust, although I do have cats and tips(but no AIR). If the tech just does the normal procedure for an ODBII car and the computer says it passes(no code) then they have no reason to do a visual inspection of the emission system.

You can have the TDs run out the back but everyone says it's a lot of work and $$. It's gotta be cheaper than the Corsa though. You've already got the TDs so you might as well keep them.

Damn, you seem to be right. I didn't think you could relocate the cats but I can't find it in the inspection criteria. The exhaust does have to exit outside of the passender compartment.

Does the exhaust have to exit the rear or could they exit out the side in front of the rear tires? It would be pretty easy to have some pipe bent to exit the side and attach to the dump with a clamp for inspection purposes. Right?

it doesn't matter if the exhaust exits on the back or the side of the vehicle, the wording of the law is it has to exit out from under the passenger compartment of the vehicle

and the above post is correct, it doesn't matter where you have your cats, as long as you have them

or something that looks like them, haha

^^^^^^^^^^

Sounds fishy.....I don't think you would fail because of that. I on the other hand have to pay for a sticker. They hear that 244/248 rolling around in there and it is game over.

as long as it exits from under the passenger compartment either in front of the rear tires or to the rear of the car itself,it also has to have to be held up with exhaust hangers not clothes hangers [not that we would do that]
