Jason Garrett staying with the Cowboys!

Looks like he is the front runner for the Head Coaching job in Baltimore. Anyone think Jerry will put up a fight to keep him? After all, this guy was reportedly being groomed for the Dallas Head Coach job when he was first hired.

if jerry jones lets him go, this is not gonna be looking too good for dallas. he is the main reason our offense was playing as well as it was, but then again, we played like **** at the end of the season, but I think that was more player error than anything.

Well, Wade Phillips led the Cowboy's to a 13-3 record. He is the defensive coordinator. The defense didn't slip down the stretch.
However,
the OFFENSE slipped the last month of the season and in the playoffs.
That being said:
He won't fire Phillips just to promote Garrett. Jones will let him leave, not really fair that your head coach had a 13-3 record, then fire him?? ain't gonna happen.
Garrett's NEVER been head coach, adn only coordinator for the last 3 years, he's not ready....and Jones knows that.....
We'll see gentleman!

If Garrett leaves along with Tony Sparano (rumored to become the Dolphins next H/C) that is going to really suck for next year. Both of these guys are invaluable as coaches to the Cowboys. Ugh!!! Hopefully JJ can step up and keep at least one of these guys.

well, remember that coaches go where the money is.
I predict that Garrett will accept the Raven's job by the end of the week.
I predict that Sparano will accept the 'Fin job by by the end of the week.
That's the way it is folks. Just like free agency in any sport for the players, coaches are the same way unfortuantly. It's a business!
If Garrett leaves, he will have the opportunity to start fresh with HIS team, instead of a team that Parcell's built form the ground up.

Even if Garrett goes to Baltimore, how is that going to be more HIS team than anything he inherits in Dallas? It's not. The only way it will be his "own" team is if he was a head coach for 4-5 years.

One thing about the NFL is that there is no salary cap on coaches salaries. Jones can pay Garrett whatever he wants or however much it takes to keep him if he wants to. I hope the Cowboys can somehow hang onto JG. It is being reported that JG is 60-40 leaning towards taking the Ravens job. This might be what he wants from a career standpoint to be a head coach though.

If coaches go where the money is, then you can bet that one of those coaches will stay in Dallas (Garrett). JJ will match the Ravens offer. Why would he let Garrett get away after having the best offensive season in Cowboys history? He's not afraid to spend money... and on one of his homegrown people, he will.

He might rather be head coach then making loads of $ as offensive coordinator.
All about the title! (and not Super Bowl).

Especially if Garret gets a HC position and has a couple of successful years,he will not only be getting the title but the CASH along with it.
If he takes the Raven's job,he'll be half way there to having it all...
Personally I (of course) hope JJ gets him to stay in D.His value is HUGE to the Cowboys and this season in my opinion has proven that.

As was said on ESPN yesterday in reference to Garrett.... nobody coaches in the NFL with the hopes of staying a coordinator, no matter how much money is involved. Everyone has the goal of becoming a HC. Lets face it, last year JJ had the option of making Garrett the HC and didnt, now someone wants him to be a head coach and Dallas is freaking out. Well, some things can turn around to bite you in the ***, and this is one of them.
