Haha, I like how everyone read the title and overlooked your actual question.. It's kind of confusing though. Two very different questions.

Anyways, I drive an 02 Z28, but I wouldn't suggest it for towing around friends, or parties in the backseat. There's still a lot of variables for your choice though... But here's some 4 door dd's I wouldn't mind having for under 20k with good mpg

Malibu, Taurus, Accord, Civic, Camry, Grand Prix, Saturn (on average, I got 35 mpg mixed on a 95 SL1 5 speed w/200k+ miles), older TL, Sentra (my friend got a nice SE-R V-Spec for 9k, 2.5L M6), Maxima, older Lexus, older BMW, Cavalier, Lancer, Impreza (2.5 H4), Neon (SRT.4! lol), Sebring, Impala, and more that I can't think of right now..

I wouldn't mind a Sentra SE-R as a dd. Cheap(ish), Nissan, good back seat room, some zip under the hood (with FI options if need be), great interior (imo), good sound system (component fronts w/ sub, stock), 6 speed, all with good mpg. But hey, it's all up to you. Put up some more requirements, and we'll try to help out.

The Formula rain or shine. I have a 96 Buick Century but it's a grandma car so it just sits in the drive. It only has 20,000 miles on it but the Formula has 211,000

2001 Custom Van! Got time to kill? Plop back in the seat that folds down electrically into a bed, turn on the Tv and VCR, lower the shades and you can feel like your at a 2nd home. Need more room to take people with you? 7 comfortably and probably 7 more in a squeeze. Get's about the same gas mileage as a ls1.

Since you are in college, get a truck. Chicks like trucks.
I drive this 06. (It's for sale too...in your price range) It will get 20mpg on the highway, but not the city.

My wife used to have a 4-door 1998 Pontiac Gran Prix. It got around 30mpg on the hwy and over 20 in the city. Plus, it ran 14.70's bone stock. You could try to locate one of those with lower mileage.
