LED's quieter (no humming), less heat, lasts longer. suppositly has a better picture. I have a HD LED DLP Samsung 61" and I like it alot. Its not as clear as a LCD HD tv, but its still a nice tv. LED saves on energy so maybe you'll see some savings on the electricity bill at the end of the year.

Yeah, I have the older Sammy 61" DPL with the bulb & color wheel, the color wheel is what makes it noisy. Aside from that, I love my Sammy It has served me well for at least 4 years or so now. My 360 looks great on it, also I have an Oppo upscaling DVD player & movies look awesome. Check out reviews of products on that forum I linked, it's the LS1tech of the AVS world....go there to learn about anything audio, video, or sound.

I just picked up the same one and I like it 100x's better than my friends projection LCD. My DLP has much better color and alot brighter.

Do some more research and you will find yourself going with LCD.

If I had to do it over again I would Probably go with a LCD myself. At the time I wanted a BIG tv, but I could have went a little smaller and got a LCD and been really happy too. LCD has a great picture.

LED Is quieter, less "rainbow effect" prone to DLP's but its is a darker tv. the "Bulb" style is like everyone said louder, but brighter... they also go out more. but changing the bulb is easy and not to expensive.

dlp is ok if your looking at it straight on, if you rat an angle you might be a little disapointed

I have a 50" LED DLP Samsung. The picture, side-by-side, is definitely better with the LED engine. I couldn't be happier with mine. I sit at a pretty extreme angle to the TV when I'm on my computer, and I can see it just fine. It's also mounted VERY high on top of a book case type setup, and still looks great.

I believe the LED's take less time to warm up and cool down too. Mine takes all of about 3 seconds to show picture from when you turn it on cold.

When you say 'mounted' are you sure you are talking about an LCD DLP? DLP are projector TV's, not the think LCD's that you just mount on a wall or something. DLPs are about 16-18" deep.

I was just talking to my uncle about this as he is building a house for a multi-millionaire. This guy paid some big dollars to some top media experts to uncover which is the best. All of them reported that rear projection will still give you the best quality, response, viewing angles, etc. Rear projection is also TONS cheaper. You can get a 60" + rear projection for less than 2 grand. I saw one at Cosco (mitsubishi)

I have all flat panel's but I've heard the LCD rear-projections are better than the DLPs.

The Best DLP you can get is Samsung or Mitsubishi. Samsung has the new LED engine and Mitsu has a new colorwheel with magenta in it. As far as flat screens go Pioneer is the best but you better have some $$$$. Best thing you can do is go to Best Buy or Conns and circuit city wher they have the same thing playing on all TVs and compare for yourself. I am usually a second guesser on the things i buy but not on my TV i just bought. If i had an extra 500 i would have gone with the LED version though. BTW you can pick up the 73" Mitsu DLP for about 2500-2600 i think thats a big bitch!!!!
