Default Interesting Proposal offered to me

Ok, So I had an interesting offer thrown at me the other day and to be honest, im serisouly considering it, My old supervisors husband has a 97(I think) TT Rx-7 with 36k original miles on it, the car itself is immacullate, not a ding or scratch on it, been garaged since he bought it brand new off the show room floor(litterally right off the showroom) for like $9,700 as it sits, theres anot a whole lot left on this car that's still stock, the motors been rebuilt to handle the boost he had planned for it, Has either Greddy, or HKS Turbos,(not sure what size they are) and has a NX kit on it as well(75shot if i recall) said it was to compensate for either lag or slow spooling, beleive it's set up to throw out around the 15-20psi mark, last time I saw it in person it had some nice meats out back,(either 315's or 335's) they are fkin wide, Rode in this car once a long time ago when I was still in High school before all the mods, and the lil fker scooted,....now the only thing is that it needs some work to get running correctly and I think I know what's wrong with it but not going to hold myself to it since im more of a Domestic guy,(it runs like poo-poo at the moment but it's bever been tuned for all this **** either)....anywyas, im considering holding off on buying a LS1 T/A or Vette and getting this car, fixing it and maybe turing around and selling it for a small profit, I know these cars are worth some green if taken care of and this one has....whatcha guys think...Sorry for the length of this

it runs as it sits, Heard it run few months ago, it spits and sputters, sounds like it has a miss in it, almost identical to a LT1 car that the timing jumped on...too me it sounds like it needs a tune for everything, JMO, kinda seems like it's not gettin enough fuel

I would buy this first. They fetch a really nice premium when they are in great shape. Could put a little in and sell for 20+

Buy, retune, sell....those cars from what I heard are finicky about tuning & weather....hit up some RX7 boards & do some research....if all else fails, put an LSx in it & drive the hell out of it!

I like those cars and would go for it if I was in your position. I love f-bodies, but there are quite a few of them running around. Those RX7's aren't nearly as common though.

On a side note, if you're just going to sell it, it may not be worth going through all of the trouble of getting it running right and investing more money in it. There is no guarantee whatsoever that you will recoup any money you invest in it or even break even. Just my $0.02

Well, I won't be loosing any cash for labor as where I do all my own work on my vehicles, nor parts, he has alot of **** he thought he needed but never installed and still in the box, as well as all the stock parts, I figured if I couldn't get it to run right as it sits and have it put down the acclaimed 20psi, I could always go back to the stock **** and sell it as a running car in immaculate condition, im still learning what all this guy has for it everytime we talk, and he assures me that every part he has for it will go with it...Still asking around in the RX7 world as what it could be or where I should start at

Buy it, fix the problem, then sale it and make a damn good profit. I did something very similar to that once. Had a '96 T/A and traded it for a '04 F150 FX4 with a 9" lift and 37" tires. Ended up trading that for my '00 Firehawk.. Yup, Wouldn't have been able to get that kind of trade with a '96 T/A .

I don't know where you are located, but there used to be a place in Garland (suburb of Dallas) called rotary performance that made some insane RX7's. They could prob do some tuning if that is all it needs.
