SLP headers dont really out perform any other header out there and they have TERRIBLE ground clearance.

+1 On this man. They are proven time and time again. The only way I would consider spending more would be for a set of Kooks.

go with mac midlengths,

torque > horsepower (:

if you dont really care about performance go with slp, they dont flow much better than the stock headers that came stock

I have macs and I'm wanting to get LT's. Anyone want a trade???

IMO, if you have OBX just run them until they fall apart. No sense in buying another header just for a name. IMO SLP isn't anything to brag about.

If you really want headers on your car DON'T waste the money on shorties or mid-lengths, go LT's...speaking from experience here.

I have had good luck with Mac's. On my '99, I dyno 50rwhp more over stock with the headers, catback and a lid. I probably going to order a set tomorrow for my Formula.

Dont bother with the slp unless they are really really cheap. You're gonna hate the ground clearance. I know from experience.

Where do you get that Macs make more torque???

I only gained ~15 hp from Macs. I'd bet on some clogged cats if this is the case. Even LT's won't add 50 hp on a stock engine.

The main problem w/Macs are the little 2.5" collectors.

Yea I'm not gonna argue with this but I'm not gonna agree. If you can dish out some evidence other than I've ridden in one car with lt's and one car with mac's that would be cool but it's just not making much sense to me right now...

i gained about 25whp from adding macs and an off road y pipe, i had a broken ect sensor and wouldnt hesitate to say the car gained another 10hp after i fixed that.

my formula dyno'd at 323whp/337wtq with macs and a lid, my SS with an rpm 3 cam made 378whp/392wtq with high flow cats. 50whp is a lil strech, but if you put a new lid and filter on and changed the plugs at teh same time your stock dyno could have been like 280 and with the headers and new plugs and stuff its possible

ive always had good experience with them, and i loved the low end torque and full mid range power. the ss and my old formula had more of a kicks in the pants feeling whel you mashed the gas, like getting on the freeway, passing someone without downshifting, or just quarter throttle-ing the car away from a red light. your going to be slightly faster with lt's but your not going to notice any difference until you start getting more serious about modding and bump up the redline

i got my macs used for $200 with an off road y cant beat that. i have pace setters right now and have no complaints but theres nothing wrong with macs in my opinion

Ok I see what your saying. I was getting the feeling that you were saying there was no reason to go with lt's when Mac's gave you more torque. I picked up .3 and 3mph just by adding my pacesetter lt's. I to got ceramic barely used headers and y to my door for $200 so I thought it was a hell of a deal. Pacesetter's y pipe IMO is a bit cheap but hey it does the job just fine. I just don't like how it's 2 piece pipe.

sorry i should have been a lil more clear about that, i prefer mid lengths because i like the low end torque for daily driving. your going to get more top end performance from LT's but i like torque i never really tracked my cars and was uaually door to door with a car with long tubes on the street anyways
