Shorter oil drain plug? Headers blocking current one.

Default Shorter oil drain plug? Headers blocking current one.

I was wondering if there's a shorter drain plug I can use for my engine oil? The current plug is being blocked by the FLP headers. You think when they designed them, they would have kept something like that in mind.

How about the bfh mod? JK Some other threads talk about grinding it down. How much are you lacking?

I had the same problem. With the car on jack stands, I just took a long pry bar (used the oil pan for leverage) and gently flattened the header tube that runs by the drain plug. Problem solved.

That certainly sounds like a simpler solution. The drain plug stays in by a couple threads, it feels like it wants to come out but it won't.

When you get it out, swap the drain plug for a quick drain plug. Like these guys make https://www.fumotooildrainvalve.com/
These things make for a cleaner oil change anyways, especially sport bikes with full fairings.

Free option is to shave the drain plug head until there's barely enough for a socket or wrench to grab. Shaved bolt sucks if you ever round it out.
