Default need help asap..
ok i have a 2001 4.8l sierra gmc truck and im replacing the waterpump and i cant seem to get to the water cuz of the fan. does anyone know how i can remove that fan??? thnks

with the tools use the first one with the three dots (nipples) and hold the pulley, then use the other wrench to turn counterclockwise and as soon as its broken loose you can spin it by hand, it usually takes me about 20min to them at work, also usually the pump is fine you ll just need new gaskets

got mine off with a pipe wrench and a hammer. lol nothing else was working and i had limited tools to work with but yea.. its a pain

quickest way is with an air-hammer. just notch it on the side of the nut.

The air hammer works like a champ.. I have also used a pipe wrench ...but the air hammer is the best way...

careful suggesting an air hammer technique to someone having trouble with wrenches, he can potentially crush the fan into the threads and then he really will have hell getting it out

You just have to be careful with it. Make sure your hitting the nut toward the right direction. After its loosened, you should be able to spin the fan off by hand.
