Run in with imports Well i was driving back on 114 east (coming back frm grapvine mall) and saw a pack of imports rolling. So i just cruised by them, was on the phone and didnt wanna race. So the "leader"pulls up and gives me the thumbs up. I was like arright, gave him one back. I put the phone down and he starts the 3 honks. I wasnt in the mood but i was like why not. I drop it down to third (we are doing about 55) and we go....he jumped me right away by about a car (i know, should have been in second). I was like wow, fast one. I start realing him and by fourth im ahead by barely half a car. I have a flat in the right rear and was low on air. So the car starts to shake at the top of fourth so I slowed down. So basically we were prety much even. Now im pissed coz i couldnt even out run an Acura RSX. And im putting down 387whp; cam and headers is all i have. I need more hp....i dont even wanna drive it anymore.
What cam do you have, 387 with cam and headers?
And never doubt some imports. I used to have a fairly quick AWD talon, it cost me $900 and with a $1000 turbo and a few supporting mods, I used to walk all over mustangs at that time. And surprise the few domestics like you that did the "I don't need to downshift, it's an import".....good luck! Now go find him when you get a 100 shot and game over!!!
And K20's can be made to be very Quick!!

dam thats sucks, one time i went to taco bell and saw about 10 imports all 
out in the parking lot when i got in line i had my electric cut-out closed

Just get some NOS as soon as somthing like that happens just purge the line. Most will go ahead and backdown because on an average Everyone now has atleast 320 rwhp-380 spray that sucker with a 125 shot they are straight up toast and they know it. My friend used to do that all the time. Or you could just do like me start laughing and roll up your window.

Or try racing w/out a low tire.
You could also go from a slow roll or dig and see if he is really all that. It sounds like you went into that race in his power band and not yours.

It was a black RSX. I know I could have got him as I had started pulling at the top of fourth, but like i said, I wasnt pulling fast enough. Wake up call for me.
I have never been a fan of go-juice but i guess i will have to now....probably a 75 shot or something. I got the work done at RPM and they said i can safely have a 75 shot. I dont remember the exact cam specs but i had told them that it is a DD and it has to get decent gas mileage. I average about 220-240 out of a tank and if it had a complete exhaust would sound stock...currently running no cats and no muffler. But screw mileage now, I work 1.5 miles from home, I'll just cut down on eating out all the time.

Ya eating out can cause your car weight problems when racing. lol. Once you stop eating out, you will see a driver mod come into place. lol Just teasing.

i'm not a fan of nitrous, but when a ricer wants to race i ALWAYS laugh and roll up my window. haha i love it, nothing pisses them off more. or you can try another thing...one time i was at a light and a ricer pulled up and started reving. i gave him the go ahead and when the light changed i just turned right and he was bowling the tires still. haha now that was funny!
That right there would **** me off as well. lol. But if I was watching this happen in front of me I would get right behind ya and pull you over to give you a thumbs up and a good laugh at what you just did to the import guy. lol. I would go out my way to give you props on that one. lol
i know my friend is always making fun of me calling me out to race it sucks he has a blue civic si makes 430 to the ground lil thing is pretty damn fast. its aight though have big plans for the summer. 9inch,intake,nitrous,heads,stall,cam, and tune. should be real fun after that
