restraunt industry has a way of grabing you into it and never letting go. It is almost always a paycut to get out.

Well i made between 5 to 6k per week...As you make more money your expenses also get higher. You need to make adjustments or the money will just slip away. Having to raise two kids also makes a BIG difference.

Become an Operator, they work 70% of the time and make good money, but that other 30% is hectic. Search for the thread that they had going on about 1 month ago about what they did.

it's really sad to see somebody who is a manager at a restaurant making 4k a month not having benefits... even if it's privately owned... and if you're not making enough on that, I'd hate to see your monthly expenses, because paying for insurance out of pocket each month is still cheaper than any medical bills you'll get raped with otherwise...

i've been at my restaurant for 4 years, not even in management, and make just short of that and I still have full medical/dental, 401k and stock options...

osvaldo, where do you work?

I work at Four Seasons in downtown. It's a great company. Good benefits, good insurance and retirement plan. Plus I'm meeting a lot of really successful/powerful people who can hopefully help me later once i finish my school. We'll see

thats where i started out (5yrs), went through the SORM program. there are also tons of people in line for those jobs. and those raises were like .50cents/hr. at best back when i was there. great job for a high school kid though.
