4-5k a month geez that is some bank most people average is 2500-3000 month. I would just recomend quit that crack habbit, that is gonna kill you. But seriously. If you are married and the wife is not working have her look for a job. I know there has to be something of an issue there. Hell if i made that kind of bank i would def have a new mod each paycheck, or save 2 check for one big *** mod.

Personally i would save and start a strip club. You have to give up something to make others happen. You just have to cut your expenses. Like someone else said. take a vacation, come back and cut expenses then you would have more money to play with then i think you would start to like your job alot more.

I agree. I'd be happy to make $4K-$5K/month after college.

You have to understand that you need an education for the most part to get a good job. That or start your own business or have a really specific skill that is in demand. Otherwise, you are making good money for your age & education level, you really either need to adjust your living expenses & or cut your hours to 40 hours a week for a while & take some time for yourself. You probably won't go anywhere else and make that kind of money, because if you had those other skills, you'd probably already be profiting from them & not asking us what to do.

I make a little more than you & I do mechanical design, but my bring home isn't even near what yours is, you should be happy....once you get a job with all those benefits, you will see a lot of your money is gone from your check before you ever see it. I contribute a chunk to my 401k, insurance fees, taxes, and a car note goes right to my credit union....I used to make more when I worked a lot of OT, but I wasn't putting anything towards my retirement like I am now....so, first thing you need to do is cut your cost of living, then you can afford to go to a job that may pay less, but you will be happier at....I could go do what I do here for another company & probably boost my annual salary by 20% or more, especially if they are hourly & have OT....but I got tired of OT & I am happy here, so that extra $$ is what I give up to be happy at work & not dread waking up & coming in each morning.

That would cost a LOT of money. You could start off small though, with a small Sushi bar....setting up a Hibatchi would be high dollar....

Why dont you give construction work a try? I started out traveling all over the country and it was alot of fun, but now that I am married and have kids I dont travel any more. I am not going to go into my income on here, but my weekly is more than the monthly you listed.

Thats where I work I make around $1600 a month and managers dont get paid good unless your a store director and you have to be in the company for 15+ years to even think about being a director. Our groc. manager only does about $2500 a month.
And the raises on average are only $.50 hr
off topic but how do you like the $100 we get twice a year for no reason

Gotta write a business plan, then start looking into getting a business loan. You will need to price out all sorts of stuff. If you are going to be stressed out & working all the time, you may as well do it for yourself, not someone else. Once the place takes off, you can hire someone to do what you do now & be the one working all the hours & being stressed out....then open another, then another....it just takes a person with that certain kind of drive to do this & to take the risk. But if you want to make it big, may as well take the risk, especially if you feel you can do it, at your young age, even if you fail, you are young enough to have plenty of time to rebound. You should look for some forums that relate to what you are trying to do & talk to other owners to get more input on costs & other things that go into it. If I were you, I'd stay away from the sportsbar/sushi plan, just make it one or the other....if you have a bar, that means late hours, if it's just a restaurant, you can get away with being open from 11-9 which is much better than 11-12 or 11-2 depending on how late you want your bar open. If you want to get away from long hours, you need to consider that, because a bar that closes early, will probably flop.
