Usually it just comes unplugged from the circuit board. Double check that. Clean the contacts while you are in there.

can you get me a closer, more detailed pic?

If you touched anything black on the circuit board, consider it fried.

Static electricity in our hands sometimes messes with them. Happens a lot with RAM (computer memory).

Blah. I work in that kind of field and in 10 years have never had it happen. Not saying that it wouldn't, nut not likely. Besides when I was 12 or so, I'd throw mine because the game cheated and I would put it back together. Mine was in bad shape. Broken board with some jumper wires on it. The Rubber pads from the buttons were replaced with "african engineered" ones from a remote control. I have it somewhere still..........

ya I can probably get closer pics. If all else fails I'll just buy a couple off ebay... but it seems like a lot arent actual "nintendo" controllers. One of my buddies noticed that there are 4 wires that connect to the circuit board*not really sure what its called*. it looks like it would work if we soldered it back on. but we dont have a solderer and it is probably better off being thrown away. I guess contra 3 has to wait

Dude, whatever you do don't throw it away. I have one of those converted over to a USB controller for my PC (I run it with NES and SNES emulators). If nothing else you should be able to sell it for someone to convert it over. Not to mention it isn't very hard to solder those leads back on, you just need to know where they go.

Or you can be an idiot and do this: http://www.nesbuckle.com/Video_Games...kle/p-109.html
