My T/A has no cruise control or A/C.. Now that's a boring drive from here to Deer Park, lol. I live like 30 miles southwest of Goliad. I was thinking about hearding out to the Tx Mile today but it rained here this morning and I didn't wanna make a drive for nothing.

Just got back from the Mile.

It was wet almost the entire way down. Got there, and it was overcast drizzle, and everything was wet. But I still unloaded, tech'ed just for grins. It took several hours but the fog/drizzle burned off, and amazingly the track did dry up. It sprinkled lightly on and off, and you could see rain all around, but they were running.

Big time sucked having an open car hauler. MY CAR LOOKED LIKE TOTAL ***!
The head wind was pretty strong too. Got two runs in, put it on the trailer and headed home at the lunch break.

Was cool to meet some of the other members out there!

It was a mad head wind today. Cars were slower no doubt. Last I heard, the top 2 street cars were Tommy Banh's Supra at 222 mph and Eddie Bello's Posche 911 Turbo at 217 mph. I plan on getting there early tomorrow. The fastest runs of the day will be early as the wind gusts will be even higher on Sunday (total headwind).

On a cool note, I ran my brick (Jeep) one time down the mile. Although it's nothing like going 183 in the Trans Am, it was still fun. I beat a 600 hp twin turbo Porsche Cayenne by 1 mph so that was pretty satisfying. The Cayenne driver asked me how big my blower was after the run, LOL. His smile went away when I told him I was running naturally aspirated and that I still had stock exhaust (stock manifolds, cats and catback).

Larry
Had such an awesome time out there. It truly was the best time I've had at a sanctioned event. The Spring Nationals are weak compared to the ridiculous levels of HP I saw in street cars yesterday. The turbo Hayabusa that laid down 240mph was insane to see fly-by.

I hope you got what you were after Larry! I got a few pictures and a crappy video (on my phone) of your run.

Anyone who didn't go missed out BIG time.

was a great time. Can't wait to run it. I'll post some pictures later.

weather wasn't' an issue after all

Some good runs today:

Boostlogic first run at the mile ever, 229.

Tommy bahn tried to come back but ran couple of 226s and 222s and ran out of time. Im sure he will come back with more heat next time

rocket dragster
rolled slowly until it hit afterburners at the 1/2 mile to run 324

I saw nothing from the viper guys at all. Not sure what happened.

Tony, we missed you, Tiago and JMBlownWS6 today. There was a lack of LS1Tech presense compared to past years. We'll have to change that in October.

The 324mph jet powered funny car was badass. My buddy Kurt has it on video. Need to download it and post it up here.

I'm still shocked we got to run, as bad as it looked when we rolled in. The drivers meeting was delayed an hour, even then most of the people around us were saying we weren't gonna run. Thought about going back today, but it has rained here off and on all day so I passed.

Being there wants me to get my car back up and runnin soon. Good seening you again PaiN. I wanted to met you Tiago, I was the big guy (kinda hard to miss) walking with Patrick.

Was also watching a couple of Victoria locals run. The Yellow 07 Z06 was running 172-173. Not bad for CAI, headers and a tune. Another 05 vette running 180.

I like how Eddie Bellow was hot lapping the Porsche today running 217,218,219,220 lap after lap.

The 30 sedan rat rod I think topped out at 177mph.

They were saying the guy on the jet bike was scared of it and only would take it up to 170-180 mph.

Great seeing you Blaine. Your Mustang was MOVING! I don't know if most of the world knows how fast of a car it takes to go 192mph in the mile. Awesome.

tiago nice meeting you and i cannot give enough thanks for the ice.... and you wouldn't even let me pay you back. definately a stand up guy in my book.

Patrick thanks for the props also the added encouragement even from the LS1 guys rooting for the STREET CAR mustang. I beleive it to be a fair statement to say I had the fastest STREET car there. I was at full weight all the way down to the spare tire. just as it would be ont he street.

well if it wasnt the fastest it was damn sure in the top of the list. i know i had all of the Porsche's covered(except for belo), and was 2 mph behind the red autobahn supra.

Nice to meet you as well! How did the intake temperatures do even with the ICE?

The red autobahn supra shut down at the 3/4 mile... he coasted to 194, he got too concentrated on running his own car and didn't get to run the red one again.

It was me that laid down the turbo GSXR 1K about 160mph! Damn Patrick I saw the jeep out there but didn't know it was you, and I never saw Tony either!

The best mph I had was my last, I hit 189mph on 10psi into a nasty 15-20mph headwind. The bike was mapped for 15psi so we were playing around. BTW the bike is fine, I'll post pics later today.

We also went down w my buddies TT Viper that ended up doing 214mph in 5th. I don't know why he only ran once on Saturday.
