I just bought a complete '01 with every accessory, complete wiring, rad hoses PS pump and cooler, alt, starter, a/c comp w/hoses, engine mounts, pedestals, exhaust, all unbolted or un plugged nothing cut. $3000 with the trans but I didn't want the trans so I paid $2500 for the engine. 81,000 miles, they gave me the vin, the last six digits of the vin match the block, carfax proves mileage correct.

Look on car-part.com to get an idea. It took me two weeks to find this 100% complete and nothing cut, nothing prettied up.
I looked at a lot of garbage from big name salvage yards, cut, hacked, cleaned up and still wet, missing little stuff here and there, most for the same price.

I bought my LS1 from fparts for my 70 Camaro SS transplant. Paid $3600 for '02 LS1 A4 with 67K miles.
http://stores.ebay.com/Fparts
THEN joined this forum & found I'd paid too much for my drivetrain. But it was very complete and unblemished. Their various buy-it-now prices at least give you a high baseline to start from. To keep apples-to-apples comparison, be sure you are getting prices that include all belt-drive accessories, wiring harness, ECM (all intact/uncut) or else that a deduction applies for the exclusion of those items. The '01-02 go a little higher since they have the LS6 intake/TB, which is a good upgrade. The '98 goes for less with an older style wiring harness/ECM that does not interchange for any other year.
Good Luck!
