Default Anyone ever buy a EBAY tranny?

I have seen some tranny's on ebay that are quite a bit cheaper than the level 2 that PB offers. Has anyone had luck with these or has anyone ever bought from this guy specifically? The guys name is Tranzparts1, has good feeback. But Im just wondering if his tranny is good? Thanks guys,

Auto

O here is the link,

link removed, sorry guys they took the link off. Tranzparts was the guy who was selling the tranny I was looking at. It would hold about 550 to the wheels they claim. Also he has other of course.

Please do not post links to non-advertising vendors here. Based on what I've seen for these trannys, being cheap will end up costing you even more down the road.

dont waste your time with them. You think its saving you money, but it will end up COSTING you money down the road. Trust me, I know...... Why dont you contact Gilbert at Ace Racing Transmission, or one of the good ole boys at FLT. Save yourself the headache.

I would never buy driveline parts off ebay. Stick with one of the transmission sponsors on the site and you will be assuring a quality product.

Im just asking if anyone ever bought one liked it/ didnt like it. I mean of course your gonna think Fleabay its gonna suck. But has anyone ever used one. That opinion would help alot more than just ripping it cause where he is selling it. Performabuilt sells on EBAY. And id love to have there level 2 tranny. And actually am still considering it. But this is a big purchase for me so im doing alot of research. And at the same time I dont know didly squat about trannys.

No more posting about non sponsers..... sorry.

Like I said, going the cheap route on driveline or engines is always a bad idea. If you buy crap, you end up paying even more to fix it later. Stick with shops with good reputations, which you can easily contact on this site. These shops build trannys for high horsepower LS1 cars and know what works.

We do list on ebay but dont sell alot, We are way over priced for that venue but its good way to advertise and brings people to our site. But many on there with the super incredible prices beware, We cant even build the trans for what they sell it for we have more in parts alone,

I wasn't aware eBay manufactured transmissions. I always thought of them as an action/internet sales store front.

Ya Im still saving up, I wanna go with Ace since im in Texas. But I have looked at about every venue I could for tranny's to see what everyone has. I wouldnt expect a cheap tranny to last through too much neeways. But someone has had the standard and had some luck......

The key to remember when considering any powertrain component that will live in a severe environment is you get what you pay for. It is not a cliche', it is not a smart assed comment... it is a fact.

Have you ever wondered why there are hundreds and hundreds of Sportsman class teams across the country and only a handful of Pro classes? It is because if you are going to run the number, the parts and the expertise behind their installation is expensive.

Do yourself the favor of doing it right the 1st time and you'll be glad you did in the long run.

I'm not saying any vendor on Ebay is not getting the job done. I'm just saying you get what you pay for. Doing your due diligence on the web is good, but calling and talking to the people who build your unit can and will give you an entirely different point of view... I see it all he time... twice today in fact!

Good Luck.
