Need help so i was driving home and my car left me
when put the car in drive the car makes a loud grinding noise and does not run and the spedometer is like in 10-15 mph
i can go in reverse but it makes a loud thump noise every foot it moves,
know my question is do you guys think its the rear-end or the transmission

the reason is because i have warranty on the tranny but the place is like 2 hours from my house, and if the problem was the rear-end then i'd just rather fix it somewhere nearby

by the way i did have an issue with rear end it was making a loud whining noise for the past month and told it could have been pinion bearing or carrier bearing
maybe the bearings fell off?
maybe the bearings fell off?
check the fluid level. then get under the car and check the driveshaft and rearend. sounds like your clutches are fried in the tranny. take it to g-force and see if they can work with you on warranty terms.

well i just finished towing my car to my house
tommorow after i get home from work i will be checking the gears, and will try to find a shop nearby to get the work done
i will probably give g-force a call
the car only works in reverse, but makes loud clunking noises

just took off the differential cap and theirs about 4-7 teeth missing on the gears
so that means i need some new ones!
any shops you guys recommend nearby sugarland/missouri city
what price is it going to cost me as far as labor?

well i decided to do the gear swap myself, my dad took off evrything already, is their anything major i should worry about while doing the gear swap?

just finished my rear end, it turned out good, took me about 7 hours total,
now i found out my tranny crapped out on me aswell.
the car runs in reverse fine, but when i put it in D the car makes a loud whining noise,from the transmission, and speedometer runs at about 10-12 mph
any ideas what it can be?
and maybe price to fix that problem?
the reason is that i have warranty on the trans but the place is like 70 miles from my house and i would have to pay to get it towed there ~$200
maybe if its a small problem i can just get the work done in a transmission shop nearby
