I of course prefer the looks of the 99+ but this one most definitely will be kept stock . I've been needing a truck to haul the bike and just park it in the front of a parking lot without a care in the world.

Bumpin this thread to show what I got. '02 ext. cab with 5.3 and 70k on the clock. Spent way more than I originally wanted to but this damn thing drives so great compared to the 96-98's that I had test drove. Paid $10k for it. Thanks for everyone's help!

Get a 96-98...its a vortec, and now there is a replacement for the injection underneath the intake. Replace that old **** with the new style and it will last forever. 160k on my 98.

Edit..oops. Nice truck Brian!

Just keep this in mind when shopping:

http://www.pistonslap.com/

My 2002 Z71 (5.3L) didn't start doing this until about 50K miles. All it took was a can of GM top end cleaner to make it go away. My friend's 2002 Trans Am did it from day one.

6 years and 63,000 miles and still going strong. No major mechanical problems. Had to replace one of the rear axle seals recently. I replaced the rear brakes at that time because they got rear end fluid all over them from the leaking seal, but I still have the original front brakes on it. Passenger power window is starting to slow down. Probably needs to be re-greased.

These trucks will run for a very long time if properly maintained.

Edit: I just read that you already bought one. Good deal! Now start modding it
