glue isn't hard to remove, the whole "when i have it painted" thing is said by almost everyone and we are still sitting on stock paint. just pull them off and use a couple of different adhesive removers and be done with it.

some adhesive removes will peel the paint off with it. the best thing you can prob do is pull them off and the glue should come off with some lighter flood and some elbow grease. other than that, if its super glue, your screwed.

They were glued with an etching glue by the body shop. And my car is going into the body shop in the near future for a full paint job.

i don't know what adhesive removers you're using but i used to detail cars and have used it many of times on different cars and including my own. no problems, Goo Gone is probably the safest route to take because it is ment for stickers, glue, sap ECT ON PAINT. if you know what you're doing with different chemicals you won't have a problem.

well if you actually have a paint job lined up (date and all) then np, but if it's only a thought then i would say do it yourself because when it's only a thought it doesn't seem to happen for a long time lol.

Yea I have tried everything you can think of. It etched itself to my paint and when you pull the glue off the clear comes out with it. I dont like the embelms either and they will be going away with my new paint. I am also going to be installing the Sunoco hood and new SS spoiler.

Yeah as for adhesive removers.. I have never had any peel my paint..
Now if you are using PAINT remover as adhesive remover, I can see the paint coming off.
As well as everything else, and yes the adhesive would come off also..

But I had a 2 brothers that have owned 2 different body paint shops, and we have used adhesive remover on paint quite often, with no paint peeling..

Even removed full Rocker panels that were fully glued on with adhesive remover and the paint did not peel...
I have pics of that one afterwards... The paint was also a candy paint job.....

I dont believe the story of the paint will peel..

BTW... Car looks good...

I never said the remover was peeling the paint man...read a little better through my thread. I was saying the glue they used bonded to my paint and was peeling it off when I took them off. Here are a few pics. I would love to tkae these off permanently but I cant til I paint it. I also worked at a body shop for quite some time so I know. Haha the pics dont show up much but the clear is pulling off when I remove the glue. Like I said I am not saying the adhesive remover is peeling the paint I am saying the glue was either applied to my car b4 it was dry or something cause it pulls the clear off with the glue.

Pretty sure the topic was about his new wheels not "the proper way to remove emblems/glue"
