What ever happened to the spring time cruises we used to have out to that park south off 288/59 somewhere out near or passed Hwy. 6? The place that has alligators? I think a park would be a better place to cruise to so people could hang out better rather than break up into their own little cliques at tables in a restaurant.
At one point I was going to suggest going to the Challenger Park over near the Nasa Rd. Hooters.
I think if we plan to cruise to the track, it would be better to just meet up central though, maybe at one of the parks down town off Memorial or something, then everyone roll out to the track from there instead of Galveston. Galveston should be a cruise all in itself. I know after a couple hours in the car I'm done, so 3.5-4 hours of cruising doesn't sound like much fun to me. That's at least a $100 cruise with food, gas, HRP track fees.
I'd like to see a big LS1Tech BBQ myself. Maybe even make it a car show/BBQ & see if Nineball wants to kick in some t-shirts or other stuff as prizes for the winners. Hell, we could even BBQ at the track I'd imagine.
A cruise to Lake Summerville & a BBQ there also would be fun.
From what I've seen, Galveston cops are huge tax collectors, last time I went down, a buddy got several citations in his SS, it sucked...
Not saying it won't be fun, I just think something different is in order.
Northside meet up somewhere...cruise to southside meet...southside meet up at the Home Depot parking lot at 646 and I45 South...
Cruise to Kemah...eat outside at T-Bone Tom's...cruise to HRP for some Sunday afternoon racing.

T-bone Tom's is good for me. In fact, just about anywhere in the Kemah/Seabrook area is fine with me. But I'd also like to do a Northside cruise one weekend just for a change of scenery.
Any cook off team folks here that have the trailer grilling/bbq rig? I'd still rather hang out outdoors at a park so I could walk around and talk to folks opposed to trying to walk to people's tables while they are eating. To me, big groups eating out at places on weekends seems to always be a hassle. Heck, just going to a steak house with more than 4 people on a weekend always seems to require a long wait.
I think some of these ideas are great for a small group of folks out cruising, but if we get 50 cars going & 1/3 of them have 2 people in them that's about 66 folks to get into & out of a restaurant. I say either leave the dinning to before the meet, or just meet somewhere like a drink shop/fast food so people aren't tired up dining for an hour or so, or waiting to be seated....
