Default Ls1tech/Fearless performance cruise

me and Randy as well as a few members of this and the other site have been kicking ideas around for a new cruise. so far we have come up with this. all the n.s members pick a spot to meet and the same for the southside guys. n.s spot leaves at 12:30 and roll to the southside meet. and from there we can all leave at 1:30 and meet at the spot in galveston for some lunch. after wards we all go to cherry hill for some pics and hangout. once thats all done we hit i45 to hwy 146 and go to houston raceway park and wrap this cruise up with some 1/4 mile passes. hows this sound to everyone? put up the names ill start a new official cruise thread and we can get this thing going. btw i figured since im here why not see what everyone thinks about a san antonio/kerrville cruise as a follow up 2nd cruise?

Yeah, that's a lot of driving.....about 180 miles from my new crib. 3 hours & 41 minutes without traffic.....and we all know 45 S. sucks going to Galveston on the weekends.

What ever happened to the spring time cruises we used to have out to that park south off 288/59 somewhere out near or passed Hwy. 6? The place that has alligators? I think a park would be a better place to cruise to so people could hang out better rather than break up into their own little cliques at tables in a restaurant.

At one point I was going to suggest going to the Challenger Park over near the Nasa Rd. Hooters.

I think if we plan to cruise to the track, it would be better to just meet up central though, maybe at one of the parks down town off Memorial or something, then everyone roll out to the track from there instead of Galveston. Galveston should be a cruise all in itself. I know after a couple hours in the car I'm done, so 3.5-4 hours of cruising doesn't sound like much fun to me. That's at least a $100 cruise with food, gas, HRP track fees.

I'd like to see a big LS1Tech BBQ myself. Maybe even make it a car show/BBQ & see if Nineball wants to kick in some t-shirts or other stuff as prizes for the winners. Hell, we could even BBQ at the track I'd imagine.

A cruise to Lake Summerville & a BBQ there also would be fun.

From what I've seen, Galveston cops are huge tax collectors, last time I went down, a buddy got several citations in his SS, it sucked...

Not saying it won't be fun, I just think something different is in order.

That sounds like a good idea...The Cherry Hill part may not work!! This past weekend the law dogs were already there before we could make it half way up the strip. Im pretty sure they had the heads up that the HPD cruise was there, but either way it goes, they see a group of cars they are going to shut down Cherry Hill!! Just a FYI

I say screw Galveston...been there done that 10 times.

Northside meet up somewhere...cruise to southside meet...southside meet up at the Home Depot parking lot at 646 and I45 South...

Cruise to Kemah...eat outside at T-Bone Tom's...cruise to HRP for some Sunday afternoon racing.

That actually sounds like a good idea. We could do a meet during the day at the usual Kemah location or at the track for pix.

You better reserve a floor of the parking garage @ Kemah for that. That place is insane on weekend days, I HATE trying to park there.

T-Bone Tom's isn't on the Boardwalk. It is on 146. We could always just hit up Hooter's on the Seabrook side instead.

I guess I'm the only one on this board that think's Hooters food tastes like crap. But then again who goes there for the food? If you really want to push it we can always hook up at Heartbreaker's for free steaks, among other things (I know the owners), lol.

T-bone Tom's is good for me. In fact, just about anywhere in the Kemah/Seabrook area is fine with me. But I'd also like to do a Northside cruise one weekend just for a change of scenery.

Well, if the final destination is HRP, somewhere central would probably draw more people into attending opposed to something that is N. or S. centric.

Any cook off team folks here that have the trailer grilling/bbq rig? I'd still rather hang out outdoors at a park so I could walk around and talk to folks opposed to trying to walk to people's tables while they are eating. To me, big groups eating out at places on weekends seems to always be a hassle. Heck, just going to a steak house with more than 4 people on a weekend always seems to require a long wait.

I think some of these ideas are great for a small group of folks out cruising, but if we get 50 cars going & 1/3 of them have 2 people in them that's about 66 folks to get into & out of a restaurant. I say either leave the dinning to before the meet, or just meet somewhere like a drink shop/fast food so people aren't tired up dining for an hour or so, or waiting to be seated....

The Brazos bend thing would be awesome, I was down for it last time when it rained out. Southside could meet at the Academy lot on 518 and roll out. I am game. Set a date.
