If you're selling it for $4k-ish like the op is wanting, I'll take it.

i bought an accord for 1900. it made it all the way to college too! but i may replace the door and try to turn a profit? thanks guys...

P.S: The "better gas milege with a japanese car" idea, it's a myth. my auto SS gets the same game mileage on the highway as this SOHC vtec auto.

dude, a car that has four cylinders and runs at 3100 RPM in order to stay at 75 mph in 4th gear means that a v8 can do the same work at 1500-1600 RPM. Which is only obtainable with a 6spd. Furthermore, the 6spd can run sub 1500 RPM at 70 mph.

Dude, if that car is running 3100 rpms at 75 mph then it's probably fucked up. 4 cylinder or not, it shouldn't be running rpms like that at highway speeds.

If it doesn't have an OD tranny it will turn those RPMs, or higher. OD didn't become mainstream until the mid/late 1980s with auto transmissions.

That said, I would think the Accord would have an OD trans, unless it's a really old one? Is there a button to enable OD on those, I can't remember, I think my mom's old 94 Accord had a button... Maybe it's not working?

You are talking to a person that owns a honda and m6 camaro....maybe you got an antique that doesn't have OD for 1900 or a car thats not in great condition. I get close to 30mpg in the city and i turn more RPMs than that in the honda. 3K = like 57-58mph.

what are you talking about? if you gotta spin more than 3K to go 60 then your car seems to be the messed up one. i'm talkin about highway miles here

yea its so messed up

do the math

.848 5th gear
4.40 final drive
~23" tire

and it still gets 35-37mpg highway
