Career Help In Austin Hey guys I just moved up to Austin, going to start looking for a place to get a good career going. If anyone knows of a good place that might be hiring please let me know. I have a BBA in International Business and a Minor in Spanish. Also, where are the car meets here in town?
On Saturday nights there is a large meet at the southwest corner 620/IH35 (in Round Rock in the old Albertsons parking lot. People start showing up at six and stay till around nine or ten.
I am not sure where the "other" meets still take place, but if you ask around at the earlier meet I'm sure someone can help you out.

I'm kind of open to that right now, anything to do with sales, management, finance, marketing or business analysis. I don't really know too many people in Austin and networking is a big part of business so maybe trying to make a few contacts as well. I want to go to a meet and see how things are around here.

There's some late night meets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I should be at the 620 meet this weekend, if you want to follow me to the fun meet. But people don't usually get there till 10ish

Recommend the 620 meet otherwise known as the "North meet".
DO NOT recommend the South meet unless gun fire, trucks dragging frame, burnouts/drifting in the parking lot, thumping stereos, and general idiocy is your cup of tea.
There are some "extra curricular" activities later on, but go to the regular meet first.

Last time I was at the South meet, I saw the police helicopter for the first time in my life. The spotlight was right on the parking lot, it was crazy. The south meet's ghetto.

I take it you missed the gunfire at JITB last year? I also heard there was a gang fight recently. Ridiculous. I'm too old, too established, and have too much to lose to be hanging around that nonsense.The helicopter checks us out sometimes, but only because people call in and bitch about the racing. Peeps at the North meet are generally very well behaved and are there to talk cars, not to cause drama. Anyway, I thought the chopper was grounded right now due to lack of $ in the budget.
If you can get there shortly after 11, you will still be there in "primetime".
