you're worrying for nothing, man. you're fine. swelling is normal, even hrs after if you're particularly sensitive to their sting. nothing to worry about tho.
UNLESS it's a rare type of Guatemalan bee that just arrived in the tx area. it's been all over the news lately. THEN get scared
haha. j/p man

Best thing to do when you get stung is take some tabaco (snuff, dip, break a cigarette) get it wet (a little spit) on pack it onto the sting, it will draw the poison out. Do this right after you get stung.

just take solace in the fact that yeah, he may have hurt you when he stung you, but you killed him......
.....bees die very shortly after stinging someone, because their stinger lodges into your skin and it rips it out of them.

i would say your fine, because if it was serious your trought would have closed by now and you wouldnt be breathing so if your still breathing i think your fine, but to get the poision out you can put chewing tobacco or dip on it

We used to have some bee hives so here is some insider info.
If it is a fresh sting, get some Adolf's meat tenderizer, about a 1/4 teaspoon in your hand. Drip a little water on it and make a paste. Put this paste on the sting. It'll pull the most of the "venom" out. Just leave it on there for a while and it'll turn yellow. This will reduce the effects aka swelling.
It doesn't work on a sting thats an hour or so old, it has to be fresh.
The other method is to just deal with it. Hell, that bee gave it's life and all you have is a swollen ankle.

God I love this thread.
You should be fine. Everyones body reacts differently to stings and the venom. If it's still swolled or red apply an ice pack. If it does not get better, see a doctor.
IF you experiance any swelling/pain that is worse that what it is now, or experiance a fever, trouble breathing or shortness of breath, trouble swallowing GO TO THE ER
That would be signs of an allergic reaction and could be fatal.
Then you would need epinephrine to stop it. I'm in medic school ^_^

To the OP, sounds like a typical bee sting really. I stepped on one and it stung the bottom of my foot...that **** hurt for days.
