looking for a tune where to go???
But to the O/P if you don't like **** half-assed and would like your tune to be perfect then i wouldn't suggest going to any shop to have it tuned because all you will get is a idle and masked WOT tune. They could careless how it drives everyday.
After that I had a tune by TRT..... well, lets just say it was never perfect and he had to mess with too much stuff to get things to work. Then his tune proceeded to blow up my daily driver by killing 2 pistons. He tried to do a SD tune without a wideband and then was shocked that the car picked up .2tenths after putting the maf on the car.
Next was Sean Freese, his tune was on the money, it was a maf tune and the car runs and feels fine. He also hates letting things go when they are not optimal and is very meticulous about everything being right.
I also have heard that RPM does a good job.
You guys need to find out how said shop is going to tune. Are you going to give them a Wideband to use on the street and pay them for the extra time to get the driveability and mpg great as well as the WOT tune and idle? Some tuners throw fuel at the car to get it to idle (that is what I found out with my TRT tune, as it was fouling TR6 plugs), and some folks spend the time and have the tables in there HP tuners files after doing many many cars. Tuning is not reinventing the wheel, I would rather have someone who has tuned 100's of cars do the work vs someone who "thinks" he is the latest and greatest.
So my DFW recommendations.....
LG, SQR, Sean Freese at Corvettes of Dallas, and RPM. All of them charge around 400 bucks.... except maybe LG...don't know what they charge. For a budget tune... I know Chuck at HPE has hella experience if you dont mind driving to Houston!
