Default What is considered a roller?

I have my opinion, but I want to get technical and clarify. I'm thinking of parting out my car, but if I sell the car as a roller, I need to know what and what not to include. Thanks.

Take your car as it sits in your garage right now, take out the engine and transmission, and that's a roller. Always has been, always will be. It doesn't really matter what your definition of a roller is.

roller = no motor or motor & tranny.

it may or may not have other parts

The car can roll when pushed, thats really about all it entails. Some are a lot more complete then others, some are just missing the drive lines, others are down to shells with enough suspension to throw some junk wheels on and get them on a trailer.

So a roller consists of ALL the suspension components, interior, fuel system, etc.?

Honestly, really doesnt have to have ****, just has to be able to get on a trailer. Theres no real definition between a roller and not a roller. I have seen a few rollers with all sorts of stuff missing.

Well, everyone has their own opinion as far as roller, but in my case, removing the engine, tranny/converter, and driveshaft isn't considered a normal roller. My car is completely race ready. It needs nothing to run down the strip but a driver.

When people say roller, I consider it a rolling chassis/unibody. Just front and rear wheels to roll the body. Wheather or not a person includes the other stuff depends on them. Thats why some rollers are more expensive than others.

I have always considered a roller with no motor/tranny. The fuel system is cloudy. Now the glass would stay. It would need a rearend obviously to roll. The rims would be staying as well as unless you take pix of it with different wheels, that is what the buyer will expect. He will also expect the interior that you have in it including the race bucket. Whatever you post pix of, that is what is to be expected.

Now, if you compile a complete list of what is and is not to be included then and only then will you and the buyer be confident of what to expect.

A true racecar roller will include wheels, fuel system, suspension components, interior, rearend.
You could sale the chassis with out suspension and the other stuff, but dont car it a roller!

I'm thinking of just selling ALL the parts, everything that can be unbolted, and just selling the body.

I could also sell the car as a full race car roller, but I doubt anyone is going to give me the money I'm looking for.

roller usually means (9 times out of 10) that the car has no engine or tranny. Yes, it will vary, but you just need to be very specific about what is included.

Usually a seller lists what the car has, and what is required to get the car driving again.

I consider a roller the complete car minus engine/tranny. Just my .02 though. What's your price minus engine/trans?

Yeah, I hear you guys.

Here's my plan:

Sell all the suspension and rear end. Put the stock parts back in place. Buy some cheap wheels and tires and sell the Bogarts/Hoosiers/Morosos separately.

So basically what you're going to have is a 2000 Camaro SS that has a 6 point roll bar, minitub, body/shell, glass, and stock suspension.

body/wheels/A rear end

fuel system is optional. I have sold a roller with no fuel system....as long as the glass and all body parts are there and it has 4 wheels to roll its happy *** on to a trailer...you have a roller.

I would dump a street motor in it and t56 and have you a fun street car

If you sell it like that it would bring $1500.00 to $2000.00. Have you tried racingjunk.com?? before you disassemble your car??

The only way you're really going to get back close to what you are asking for your car. Is to find a dumb insurance company and take out a FULL REPLACEMENT POLICY and poof there you have it.. Good luck with that..

This is a prime example of a correctly priced racecar.
