Default screwed by dealership

I bought my T/A from a local dodge dealership about 5 months ago and went ahead and got the warranty..30,000 miles or 3 years whatever comes first...its supposed to cover EVERYTHING...well it came in handy when my window motor went out, they took care of it all...well about 2 weeks ago my headlight motor goes out and i take up there and they tell me that dodge doesnt have anything comparible to a motorized headlight motor and they cant cover it, so with the part and labor it came to nearly $500! **** THAT!!! They were "nice enough" to flip it up manually for me and now it goes up and down but makes a horrible noise each time...

I then ask the service manager "what the **** is the point of having a warranty if your not gonna fix **** that breaks"...i end up leaving after i realize theres pretty much nothing i can do...

Anyone got any ideas? this is my first time dealing with warranty work... or am i just SOL?

Does the warranty state that you have to use the dealer you bought it from. Most say that if you live a certain distance away that your ok to use it at a different dealer. You might also call your warranty company, tell them your situation and see what they say.

You should be able to take your car any where that handles extended warranties. They didn't give any info on the extended warranty when you bought the car?

yeah i have a extended warranty on my car and i can choose pretty much any shop as long as its a certified shop. but i have a 250 dollar deductible so when i take it in i have them fix anything and everything that even looks like it might go out soon since im going to pay the 250 anyway . Do you have a deductible??

I bought a replacement headlight motor from Autozone for $100 and they credit you back $25 when you return your core. No probs since.

You might have to pay a deductible if you go elsewhere other then where you bought it. Do A search and get a temporary fix. you can rotate the gear inside the motor 180 degrees and get some more uses out of it. You're only using half the gear to open/close headlights, so the other half is still good. It'll probably take about 20mins with the right tools.
<--also works at dealership

Cancel the warranty and you'll get a portion of the money back. It's not the service managers fault either. They have to do what the warranty company tells them. Blame the sales/F&I dept for selling you a **** warranty. Non GM warranties on GM cars suck ***.

Its a wear part just like a brake pad. Its so you dont wear out the gear on the motor and wind up replacing the whole thing. Just a Nylon gear instead. Buy a new nylon gear and use some grease on it. It will last a long time.

No, you actually have to unbolt the bracket that makes it go up/down. then rotate it. Or you could replace it with brass gear but if I remember theyre not as easy to get now as they were a few years ago. I might be wrong though.
