Default Warning Dish Network Users

I recently canceled my Dish Network Account because I didn't use it very often, and it was money going to waste. Early this month I called them, and they said that they would send a box for me to send my receiver and remotes back. I waited a week or so and called to check where my boxes were. They said they'd send another one just to make sure it got there. I decided to wait again, and figured there might have been a mix up somewhere in shipping. Since then, I still have not received my box and they have charged my account $400 dollars to pay for the receiver and remotes. I called them to ask politely "WHAT THE F**K?", and they told me since I hadn't sent my stuff in, they took what they were worth from my bank account. They told me today that they would send the box again, and that if I wanted, I could ship it myself. The fun part is: If I ship it myself, I cannot be reimbursed for the shipping. Does anyone know what I can do, or who's *** I can put my foot in to end this?

Oh Yea, the lady I spoke with today was kind enough to tell me, "I'm going to have the box sent again, but I feel good about it getting there this time."

They all suck when it comes to cancellation and returning equipment. We had similar issue with Time Warner when we canceled.

typical for dishnet from what I have heard. Most of my installs when I worked as a tech at DTV were dishnet replacments.

Also, this is also why I never use auto-pay. Call your bank and tell them it was an unauthorized charge.

we had a very similar problem with Dish Network when we cancelled back in April.

We cancelled and removed DISH crappy boxes and went with ATT uVerse (Fiberoptics).

We now get 4 calls a day from their automated system. We never answer the phone tho. Bunch of tossers. We sent the **** back and STILL Get phone calls!

DN is one of the most worthless companies out there, we used their service for 2 days, blurry for a day due to fog, told us over the phone it shouldn't affect reception, but it did, cancelled next day, returned equipment and we were still charged close to $400. Five minutes on the phone with them and we were reimbursed immediately. I'll never think twice about them again.

yeah, dish sucks that way. I cancelled mine and they took forever to send me my box. it took around 6 weeks to get, and in the interim they charged me for another month of service even though they disconnected me and i couldn't use it. i think i still owe them 106 bucks. they are jack asses.

Dish network did the same stuff to me. Im sticking with charter for ever. If you ever want to cancel take the equipment to there nearest location. Drop it off and cancel your stuff. No headache. I cant stand any dish companies.

When you say the nearest location, what are you talking about? Example of who. I live in Arlington, so wherever you took yours I can imagine it's not too far for me.

Yeah I am about to cancel Dish Network today..........I had ATT Uverse installed last week and its 1000 times better in everyway and cheaper........better quality pic and on and on.........I was pissed when I heard you gotta ship all thyre crap back to them........I guess I gotta climb on the roof and take down the dish too huh???
From day one they sucked........the f**kers installed the satelite dish in the FRONT of our house( i wasnt there during the install my fiance was) at the front corner......4 ft and it could have been on the side of the house when I complained the idiot install guy said thats the only spot it would get signal(BULL S**T) then I had no picture a few months later and I called for a service tech to witch they said the soonest he could come was a week from that day and that I would be billed $40 for the service call.....so the tech comes out and said the reason for the trouble was improper install when the Original tech installed the system. He noted on the claim and said we should NOT be billed but we were..........then when I disputed the OBLIVOUSLY HOMO operator said we should be billed because we werent billed for the initial install.......but I explained to him that that was because as new customers we signed up during a promotion that said FREE INSTALL.......any way we went round and round and still the $40 was billed to us.......so now GOOD RIDDENCE..........and I will be sure and send theyre satelite dish back smelling like a weeks worth of **** and any other foul smell I can apply with out being billed for damaged equipment!

This is about typical from all the people I installed DireTv to replace DN said. They must suck some serious *** ***** cause this is not just a few people bitching about their customer service. Number two complaint I hear about it is the long wait times for someone to pick up the phone when you call.

same here, capital one got me on that. there was a credit monitoring service that i had signed up for that i wanted to cancel. i called the service to cancel, they said they would cancel it but it kept coming out. i called capital one and told them that it was no longer authorized, and they said they wouldn't let them take it out any more, but it kept coming out. so i called capital one and told them i would just like to pay the card off and cancel it, so that's what we did, and 3 months later i got an overdue bill for $400, so i paid that and said now i want the card paid off this time. 3 months later, i got another overdue bill for $400 (i wasn't using the card at all, i thought it was cut off). that time i told them to stick it in their asses, and let it go to collections. you know what, those bastards cut the card off. imagine that

I have had similiar issues in the past, but most recently have not had any problems..
1st off if you cancel with a company, they will be out to charge you as much as possible, goes with most providers...

That is why when you do cancel, you have to take the stuff down to their office within a week of cancelling... Makes no sense to sit and wait for a box to ship the stuff.
As for Direct tV, I just stuck it in the box it came in, and got all the shipping information and mailed it.. Worked great.. no problems...
