Default Run what ya brung

I see so many sigs around here with track times and a lot of them have something like "drag radials spinning" or "spinning through 1st and 2nd." It just seems like a ***** excuse. You run what you run. If your car, as a whole, ran a 8.0 or 7.0 in the 1/8th then that is what it runs. Why does everyone feel so insecure that they need to give some sort of lame *** excuse?

That post was directed at me...

You can obviously tell in the vid the radials where spinning... I normally dont like to go to the track on street tires.... but the slicks we brought wouldnt fit.

Cars that spin dont go fast. I have cut better 60fts on real tires before. ****.... IMO cutting a 1.51 60ft aint tooooo bad for a street tire.

550+rwhp will make most unprep'd drag radials spin

cars that spin don't go fast? how so. as in "if i spin i won't make as fast time, but if i hook i'm very quick" or more like if your car spins period it's slow? such as a full on dragster on doughnuts.

Head wasnt up my ***...

But If you had a problem with my vid... why didnt you post it in MY thread vs starting a new one? Seems pretty stupid to me to start a new thread asking about excuses.

If someone wants to make a "excuse" he has the right to.... does that make it acceptable for you to say it is a "*****" thing to do? Probably not Mr. Hypocrite... why don't YOU get YOUR head out of YOUR ***?

Don't know anything about all of that^^ but yes I hate people at the track who use that as an excuse.
If you can't ground the power that you have, then it is completely useless, get slicks.

Damn slicks wouldnt fit due to my long shank lugnuts not being long enough!

NOW THAT MUST BE A BETTER EXCUSE?

and no it isnt.... car ran a 7.6 on motor and a 6.8 on the jug...... still spinning. So..... I think the extra power isnt useless.....

well that's sad to hear that your slicks won't fit, but tires are still made to grip.
It gives you the power to spin tires...why didn't I think of that...hell..they should equip the new Corvette Z06s with the shittiest, baldest, used, beaten tires that chevy can find!
point:Tires are made to grip. Companies wouldn't make gripping tires if people didn't want to ground their power and therefore *dum dum dum* have a faster car. "A car that grips beats a car that slips."
I didn't start this argument either, you started it with me, have a nice day and hope your slicks fit so you'll run better

My drag radials dont spin near as much on motor as they do on the bottle. Sure it is possible to make drag radials hook, but not nearly as easy as a set of slicks.

Put over 550rwhp to that vette and see if those amazing "Chevy" tires hook. My drag radials are not bald, severly beaten, or old. It is a fact that hitting 550+rwhp to the tires is not going to hook. If I did I wouldnt be 60ft'n 1.51 and would be doing 1.3's or 1.4's like a slick

What if your excuse is, " I had shitty times at the track b/c I don't know how to drive." I've never heard anyone say that, but I think that would be an acceptable excuse.

You're right...I'm stupid for only going 105 and taking a picture while driving. Of course that means that the car only goes that fast too. 106 and I start crying. Give me a break. Besides, what did I say that made you feel I was having room to talk? It's called rhetoric...look it up.
