anyone weld for a living?
anyone weld for a living? wanting to get in on welding anyone got some tips or anything? im green at this other than welding up small **** to practice on. i really like it and i dont get pissed off welding, it calms me down lol.
im a head over to some community colleges and see what all they offer. im mainly interested in mig/tig welding never really tried stick.. although i have a 220 one lol

I got tired of all the dead beats I had doing my welding, so I went and bought a tig machine, read some stuff on the internet...I didn't know where to put what to weld what metals. I'm no pro, but it gets me by.

yeah i weld turbos on silver z28s too lol
i did everthing in mild steal, thats the only metal i know. i want to learn to do alum and stainless on the tig though.
so i guess we dont have a ls1 professional welder in dfw area then?

Start with arc welding. That gives you the fundamentals in what you need for everything else. A little cracker box machine is cheap and will get you going. weldingweb.com has a huge anount of knowledge. Run 100 lbs of 1/8" 6011 and 7018, then report back.
