I don't know if you are familiar with audio/video, but all the equipment I used is high end and expensive. Honestly, I didn't think it was $16K either until I layed it all out on paper and added it up.
no, you're dead wrong. nobody's going to pay close to full price on used stuff. that's why you're still sitting on that car AND that truck. the only reason i'm saying anything is because i've been watching your part out thread, and you were WAY too high on those headers to begin with, and now you've actually RAISED the price i guess they were sitting around so long, you thought you may have better luck selling them if they were even more ridiculously priced

Ive had a 1999 Silverado ext cab 5.3L and I liked it alot, until I sold it because it was getting old and I wanted to buy a Camaro. Right now the trucks are pretty cheap and I can sell my car (02 SS, 6spd, CME, Hardtop, 78,000 miles) for a decent price and get into a truck for not too too much money.

I just wanted to see who else already has one, what their getting gas mileage wise (2wd/4wd) and how they like it so far.
i got a 07 with the 4.8 get 22 easley i am happy with it

just out of curiousity, how much were they wanting? i'm looking at getting a 1/2 ton crew cab at the end of the year, and i'm just wondering what i'll be looking at price wise. i'm hoping to ****** one up pretty cheap in november or december when they're having model year closeouts

the truck I test drove (2008, crew cab, birch silver, ebony cloth interior, w/20's) was 32,000 sticker, plus a $6,000 rebate, plus $2000 off for owning a gm vehicle. so it came down to 24,000 with no negotiation at all. and IMO its a pretty clean/badass truck, hoping to get even lower then that if i purchase one in the next couple weeks

but there is rumor of GM giving an even bigger rebate on new trucks here in the next 2-3 weeks

2 SLOW, I'm not here to make friends, so I could care less if I am accepted or not. I have better things to do than argue with you guys, ESPECIALLY you. I will tell you that if I ever run into you, it'll be a different story.

rooster99ss, how do you see 30-40% close to new price? If I purchased a part for $1000 and sold it for $600, that's considered close to new price? Wow. Regardless and I'll say it again, they're my parts, that I paid with my money, the money I earned, etc. I can sell them for whatever I want to sell them for and you've obviously haven't paid too much attention to my for sale threads because I've sold a **** load of parts already. There's not much left from the car. Hrmm...I also suppose that I magically inserted the trader rating that I got too. I'm an honest seller whether or not you feel my prices are fair. Lastly, you don't know what you're talking about, so I suggest you shut it because I LOWERED the price of the headers, not raised them. I don't know where in the hell you got that.

To the original poster, sorry man your thread got hijacked. I will not contribute to it anymore. I was only trying to give you another option, but of course, everyone has to come in and get all defensive. So good luck to you in your search for a truck.

I had an '07 GMC 5.3L (new body style) and it was a very nice truck. The only complaint was the crappy base model cloth they use on the seats, it was a big lint magnet and always made the truck look dirty. Spring for the upgraded cloth option if you buy one, or leather.

It averaged about 17 mpg with mixed city/hwy driving, not horrible.

I hear the 2009 models will be available with the 6 speed auto transmission, and 6.2 liter in the 1/2 tons. Someone posted the info on here a few days ago. Might not be worth the wait for ya, but the 6 speed tranny is tempting.

Don't the 6.0's have a 6 speed auto?

lol, i saw the price go from $860 to $925, so maybe i was smoking crack or living in an alternate reality when i read that. if you want $600 for the headers, i might be interested in them, but i swear last time i looked you had them listed for $925

to the OP, that's a pretty good price on that truck man, that's what i was hoping to hear. i'm still going to wait till the end of the year though, that's when the good sales go on, and i'm not in a hurry

Honestly not sure. I know the HD's do, and the Denali's have them behind the 6.2's, the Vmax's might. 2009 they will be offering them in all formats except the reg cabs. 5.3-6.2's will be able to get the 6 speeds, the 4.8 liter is either gone, or won't get the 6 speeds.

I don't see the 4.8 going anywhere. It will most likely keep the 4l60 in that case.
What is the difference in the Vmax? I've seen a couple of them but didn't think anything of it.

Have you ever considered a Colorado? I looked into fullsize trucks but realized that rarely IF EVER was I going to tow something, and just needed the bed for camping/ supplies while restoring my house. I've never seen the point in having a fast truck, so I settled on an '04 Crew Cab Colorado. Its just the 2.8L 4 cyl. with a 5 speed manual. BUT it does everything I want it to(haul stuff/people/camping) while getting 20-21 city and 24-26 highway. If your that deadset on a V8, they're going to offer the 5.3 in the '09 model, which should be available in the next few months. I picked my truck up for right under $10k with 48k miles on it. You can get these trucks for a steal used.

meangreen- yea im sorry lol im deadset on a fullsize truck, its just the face that I need to haul stuff and people too,

nineball- I'll look into the upgraded cloth or leather, i like cloth and I was looking at the ebony one so I may look into the leather now that you say that or get it reupholstered because its cheaper and better leather then factory.

Clean99, GM was supposed to have worked out the bugs on the cloth seating. I think the lint collecting was pretty much restricted to the ebony cloth anyways. I know my 07 with the LT package cloth in Ebony sucks. I wanna upgrade to leather so bad I can't stand it.

yea while the smaller trucks are pretty dependable and cheap. i say stick to fullsize. ever since i bought my colorado ive sort of kicked my self for not buying a fullsize gmc truck mainly due to the fact that the small trucks get no better of gas mileage than a fullsize and the towing capacity whenever i have to haul a car or anything over 3k lbs

Ok joe, for the second time did you sell your car? And what did you get? And Dan, nobody wants a ugly colorado, jk, wanna race, lol. I would stay away from the 6.2, I dont know how much mileage they get, but I am pretty impressed with 5.3.

Yes, but according to the GM Media website, the 6 speed will be optional for 5.3's and up.
