Default Veterans attending College, New MGIB

I know there are some Veterans in here attending college, just wanted to pass the word if you haven't heard yet. Bush signed for the new MGIB and its going to take affect starting in August 2009. (Although the VA lady at my college said 2008)

Sounds like a pretty good deal. I qualify for 100%! I looked up the 2008 BAH rates for E-5 w/dependents in Houston and its $1322.00. This will make my life a lot easier while in school. Anyway just passing it on if you haven't heard.

I am getting out soon on a hardship chapter. It may be worth my time to check into this.
I have 6 yrs service and have not used my mgib benefits.

I get 60% but my gi bill runs out with 10 months of usage...I wonder if I should skip a semester? If I take fall semester thats 4 months off. That leaves me with 6 and puts me into spring 09. Skip that semester and and have 6 months left at the new GI bill rate starting Fall 09...Sounds good to me...Pushes my graduation back..

Wow...incredible deal there!! I was getting almost $1K/month back in 2003 for a full time student. Now they're paying tuition PLUS a housing allowance?? Pretty impressive....post 9/11 vets would be crazy to pass up using that!!

Damn. Damn. Damn. Damn. Damn.

I just finished off my GI Bill in May.

I am so envious. I would have qualified for 60%......
