WTF Tranny/Clutch Problem
WTF Tranny/Clutch Problem So I'm pulling into my apartment and all of a sudden my car won't go into gear. It's always fun pushing your car into your parking space in front of your neighbors 
. This is kind of difficult to describe but heres what
happened:
When I would try to push the shifter in gear with the clutch in it wouldn't go in(that's what she said), then I would give it some force and it still wouldn't go into gear but seemed like it would catch barely and the rpm's would drop/car would start to die.
After I got the car into the spot I waited like 10min and went back out. I could shift through gears easily with the car off, so I cranked it up and same thing - wouldn't go into gear. Next, I turned the car off, put it in gear, and turned the car on and was able to put it in gear!!
Has this happened to anyone before? I'm a little worried about driving somewhere and not being able to shift.

I am hoping it is the tranny. That is cheaper than a new clutch. Sixspeeds inc has a great rep

I had something like that happen. i have a two piece Hurst shifter one of the bolt that holds the shifter together came out and got stuck between the shifter and the shifter stop but i couldn't get it out of gear.
Six speed Inc. took good care of me, I got the car back completely fixed today. The pilot bearing was completely shot. They went ahead and replaced the slave for me as well. Since my car is a little over the 6 figure mark in mileage I just went ahead and got the tranny rebuilt. Now she's ready for up to 700 
Didn't hurt the trans as it was in good shape. Just remember to change the fluid.
