so.. there is nothing else to do other than getting wasted? and as far as bums goes downtown Dallas has its own. It feels like you are in the Thriller video if you ever go there after dark.

Lots of bands, lots of girls (Though in my travels around the country, Dallas has the best looking women per capita, IMO. Too bad I look like Frankenstein), lots of hot cars. There is a Street Brawler shootout at SAR on Sunday.

I guess so. I've never, ever had a bad trip to Austin. If you don't have fun there that's your own fault, lol.

We do have some real good food around here, I work at the Salt Lick and people love to come out here and get drunk n eat BBQ. Its byob so you can bring as much as you want. If you like mexican we have some great lil mom n pop taco shacks out here in buda.

As for something besides getting drunk and eating you could go to barton springs. There is always an abundance of good looking girls there.

If you want to check out the street racing scene go hit up 183, lots of racing goes down on the upperdeck.

I've lived in Austin. My home town is 45 minutes from Austin. I grew up hanging out with Stevie Ray Vaughan (or rather my parents hung out, I wasn't even in school yet, lol) listening to them rehearse. I know what's there. You said it's greater than all. I'm not saying it's not cool, I'm just saying it's not all that. Last time I was there leaving 6th street after catching Hernan Cattaneo spinning at a club there, it looked like I was in South Central L.A. I was so glad I was in my crew cab dually & had my buddy there that had his .45 on him. It was pretty sketchy & nerve racking.

I was there back when you saw Oat *****'s stickers all over...."Onward thru the fog!" My parents where hippies, what can I say, lol.

I've walked to Oat ******* plenty of times.

But there is no doubt Austin has a lot more to offer than any other city in Texas. And places closing early???? Where do you come up with that crap?? Fail musicians?? You mean music capitol of the world.

I didn't say I lived there recently, but it's not the music capitol of the world, that's simply your opinion of the place. There are several places around the world where music get's it's start or people go to for advancement. I don't see people hitch hiking from L.A. to get their music career started.

It surely isn't the capitol for house music, lol. And for country, I'm thinking Nashville, most rockers go to Hollywood........ opera? Classical? It may be the music capitol of Texas, but the world? Not so much. I don't see Japanese rockers flying over to Austin because it's the WORLD's music capitol. I bet most people in the world don't even know where or what Austin Texas is.
