GO down to Riverside on i think thursday night and cruise youll enjoy it. you will find other people there looking to do the same thing you are which is have fun with their cars. and they will lead you to the other spots.
one night(when i lived there) i was down at the street races with my 67 camaro and we were hanging out on riverside when we heard sirens(police right), everybody takes off and go different directions to meet up later at a different meeting point. well as i let out this black ss was beside me and we were just going the speed limit and a cop passes us flips a bitch and hits the lights and sirens, the ss flips a bitch himself and goes the other direction and i down shift and nail it, well about that time a supra flys by me and i hit a hard right and the cop goes after him. about 5 min. later i pull into a gas station which was on a nice straight road and im filling up when i hear one hell of a rumble, a 69 short wide chevy truck with a blown stroked 502 with spray comes flying by with some serious speed. about 10 seconds later here comes a red viper doing the same and right on their tails was a cop.
lol i talked with the guy in the truck later and he said they were about to line up and go when the cop turned out of an alley way and persued them, they continued with the run and hit it anyway. the truck smoked the **** out of the viper and left him there for jail bait HAHAHA. fun times.

i know it sounds like it jumped off the screen lol but still a good choice in austin is riverside.every town has their things to do and id emagine there not much difference in what one town or the other does for fun.
Not really, I almost moved to Dallas but was so happy once I found a job in Austin. Downtown sceen is much better, pretty much every bar has a good crowd. It is fairly consistent now, but doubles once football season starts. You can walk to UT stadium from 6th street. Not as many 30 thousand dollar millionairs as dallas. Huge live music Scene if your into that. Crap load of outdoors activities. You need to check out South Congress during the days. Guerros always has a band going. Blues is every where. If you like the EMO stuff Bullet for my Valentine is playing at Stubbs Saterday. But yeah, we usually get wasted and try to find a way home on the weekends. Downtown is addictive here. Fbody wise, take a look at www.austin-f-body.org, they are always doing cruises to Salt Lick and so forth.

go climb Mount Bonnell. Whatever you take up there will fall in love with you or so it goes...... or you could do what I use to do in my undergraduate days and throw hamburgers at Leslie
College chics, bars, Continental Club if you are into rockabilly type music, if you like old school car Kulture, they have a decent scene up there....the lake is nice. Just depends on what you are into.

The hill country, Barton Springs, Lake Travis, Town Lake, tour the Capitol, check out the UT campus, check out the UT trophy room & FB stadium, 6th street bars - for great live music and atmosphere. If you like Mexican food try Matt's El Rancho. Great food and great margaritas.
