DFW U-Joint tool anyone
DFW U-Joint tool anyone So Harbor Freight currently doesn't have one and I'm not paying $60 dollars for AutoZones trash.. So Im wondering if anyone has the tool in the DFW area ?
If so I can load up my DriveShaft and meet you where ever.. It is getting them out that Im having trouble with ( C Clamp isn't helping because I cant attach a socket to it ).

I had a two door yukon lifted 8 inches that thing ate u joints in about 1000 miles, always used a BIG hammer to change em.
If i remember correctly the stock U joint had plastic in it that i had to melt out with a propane torch, not sure if they are the same with a F body but i would guess they are. Might be your problem getting the stocker out.

Yeah Blake a buddy of mine had a Yukon and went through them like crazy too, close to 2000 miles each...
I used Mapp gas and believe I got all the plastic out and the thing still wont budge - Im going to try something else here in a bit after my finger stops throbbing from the beating it took.

You can get the tool for rent from Autozone. The $60 is a deposit that you get back when it is returned.
I have always just used a bench vise and sockets to press mine in and out.
