what to do in fredricksburg tx Me and this chic are going to be off on friday. She wants to go to fredricksburg to spend the day together, but im not too sure what there is to do & what there is to eat. I was thinking about hitting up the outlet mall in roundrock then getting something to eat in gruene but im not too sure.
Need some suggestions?

I went back in May for 3 days it was very nice and peaceful. We visited the above mentioned museum and enchanted state park (lots of nice scenery) visited a few wineries. There was also a decent selection of places to eat, so I would say its worth the trip.
I'd eat at the German restaurant at the end of the main drag. I have lived in Germany and the food was pretty authentic (and really good). There are also lots of boutiques for your girl to shop in. There are also benches outside many of the stores. That's where I sat part of the time while the wife shopped. 
Then go climb Enchanted Rock as the others have suggested.

For restaurants I like the Altdorf (sp?), SilverCreek, Ratzkellers (breakfast), and the Brewery as well as a few others I can't think of their names. Your girl might like Rather Sweet pretty well (right off Washington behind Nimitz' birth house). It's owned by Dan rather's daughter IIRC and the ladies seem to like their sweets as well as light meals. For beer, the brewery is king if you wanna sit down and drink while eating a pretzel or something and there's a ton of grab and go places since you can drink and walk down the sidewalk in F-burg. You're close enough that you could go to Schliterbahn (sp?) or float down the river if you can bear the weather. Enchanted Rock is fun, once, lol!

+1 on the Nimitz Museum. Your girl will probably try to drag you to all of the girly country stores up and down the main drag (wear sneakers!), but you should try to bargain with her to see the museum and drink some beer.

There's a brewery on the main drag. There's a little wine place the girly will like about a block off the main drag. I don't remember the name, but ask around and they'll tell you where it's at. If you are heading out from San Antonio take a drive out to Bandera, eat at the OST for breakfast, drive up to Fred on 173 and 16....used to be my favorite ride on the motorcycle.
Throw some swim gear in the car....there's a few places on the road up there where people go swimming in the creek/river.

cool i checked out the enchanted rock & rock climbing seems fun. She said that would be cool & she likes to chill n drink a beer or 2 so im pretty sure she wont mind the beer. she had recommended the shops before but if she knows theres other things to do then the shops probably wont take too long to see. thanks guys.
On another note i called the enchanted rock place and i dont know if you need a reservation to rock climb or go hiking but no one ever answere the phone.
& the idea for the winery is badass as well. Im sure we wont have a problem finding something to do.

Heck no you don't need a reservation. It's a state park. Just drive up, pay an entry fee, get a trail map and have fun. If you don't mind a little more driving, hit Coopers BBQ in Llano... it's badass BBQ.
