it is fast moving, so it will only last 6-7 hours for most of us, which will help with the flooding .. it is going to change the look of Galveston forever, unfortunately.
Downtown will end up being a mess, I am sure, with lots of glass and some flooding .. the tall buildings downtown will see 100+ MPH sustained winds.

just seen that. guess he fell asleep inside his room. there was a guy just a minute ago wading thru the water towards it. maybe he thought he could crank it up and drive it out.. on a side note the power has aready gone off here in pasadena. space center blvd @ fairmont. good thing it came back on for now (crosses fingers).

Nasa rd 1 has alot of business' flooding. Friend's apartment already flooded. Kemah boardwalk is completely flooded. Taylor lake is coming way up. Starting to get windy in Seabrook. The power is flickering. I am going to go ahead and shut the computer off... goodluck everyone!

wind is finally kicking up here in Katy. more nervous about the old trees on the street landing on the truck than anything. family should be safe, house is like a fort.

just got in from galveston island. i45 went completely under water. and the waves were blowing over the causeway bridge. everything in galveston is completely underwater. the top of the causeway bridge was covered with dead pelicans/seagulls damn winds were blowing at 70mph. though i was going to flip over. anyone staying in galveston is fucked. ill do what i can to get video up.

I went ahead and "evacuated" from sugar land to tomball, winds are just starting to pick up around here. I started laughing when I saw the SS getting flooded at the hotel because I knew everyone of us on here would spot that poor car right away.

WTF were you doing in Galveston today?
Glad you made it back. Galveston Bay and Clear Lake will look like the coast tonight, there will be very little left of Galveston along the coastline. I drove through Biloxi a week after their big hurricane a few years back, it was similar. About the first 4-5 city blocks near the coast line were nothing but foundation slabs and rubble.
