It will be a 3 when it hits.. and it is absolutely huge, so just being a 2 doesn't even help much.

it is fast moving, so it will only last 6-7 hours for most of us, which will help with the flooding .. it is going to change the look of Galveston forever, unfortunately.

Downtown will end up being a mess, I am sure, with lots of glass and some flooding .. the tall buildings downtown will see 100+ MPH sustained winds.

Everyone stay safe!

I saw that red SS Camaro that had water up to its bumper.

Who the heck would leave their f-body in the street like that knowing its going to flood.

Just saw that the eye is now 60 some odd miles wide. That is just huge. It doesnt matter if its a 2 or 3 the size of the storm is gonna be much more destructive.

I went ahead and "evacuated" from sugar land to tomball, winds are just starting to pick up around here. I started laughing when I saw the SS getting flooded at the hotel because I knew everyone of us on here would spot that poor car right away.

WTF were you doing in Galveston today?

Glad you made it back. Galveston Bay and Clear Lake will look like the coast tonight, there will be very little left of Galveston along the coastline. I drove through Biloxi a week after their big hurricane a few years back, it was similar. About the first 4-5 city blocks near the coast line were nothing but foundation slabs and rubble.

well. my freind wouldnt stop begging me to go out there. so we went. the weather wasnt very bad but the water was rising over i45 at the rate of about a inch a minute. my freind was talking **** and fighting me to stick around there longer. by the time i left there was about 2 feet of water on i45. the whole way back hearing my freinds bullshit about not staying longer.
