Default My Ike related thread

We went to Amarillo since we have family there and hadn't made the trip in a few years. Here's a few pics from the trip including some from Palo Duro Canyon and a few of my second cousin's garage.
I've also included some of the wreckage we returned to.

On the road:

Wind Power:

The Big Texan

At the Tri-State Fair:

Palo Duro Canyon:

Cousin's Garage:

Some of the aftermath (at my house):

That's a 20' boat.

Anyone want some free milk?

That is a badass garage. Where do people get the money for stuff like that.

Sorry about the boat, we lost a few things even up here in East Texas....

We just went to The Big Texan to take a couple of pics. We did not eat there. We did eat at a good BBQ place (can't remember the name...Dyer's or something?) and Amarillo Slim was there.
We stayed at my uncle's house which is on Van Buren just off of Washington and 34th street.

nice pics. guess the pics i took gave you a lil motivation and the hurricane gave you a good reason to go check out the canyon. btw did you go to white deer, texas to see that windfarm? btw the canyon would have been much more fun if you would have taken the mustang. was hilarious scaring the **** out of my passenger when i had my camaro there.

The wind farms were northwest of Abilene...between Lubbock and Abilene on Hwy 84.

It's HUGE, 15 miles long or so I believe. , I heard it's longer now too, they start when you're in I20 by Sweetwater and turn and go up 84 with you

Yep. One blade on that thing is about 3 times as long as an average 18-wheeler load. I see them heading north out of Houston quite often. Funny thing was, hardly any of them were even moving when we drove through. It was an extremely calm day.
