Dodge Challanger!! So I looked at a test video of the New Dodge Challanger and it says it runs a 13.8 1/4 mile. I dont understand. It has 425 HP and 405 Torque.. I figured it would run way better than that. My WS6 is faster than that stock. Just wanting to know if one revs next to me, do I save the embarrassment to myself or can I whoop him and make him wanna sell is car!!!

Dont they have a good deal of Torque management issues as well. Almost all cars that come out of the factory have some sort of crap you have to tune out.

damn..i've seen a few challengers out here, but never next to me...i've only ran my t/a in the 1/8 when it was stock and ran a 8.7..haven't been to the track since i got the mods...hoping to line up to an srt8 sometime

There was one at Northstar that ran a 9.1 and I think his best was 9.0

yes the car is heavy but damn.
im kinda disapointed right now...i was thinkin of Trading up for my birthday...but if i pay 44 grand for the all out 6.1 Hemi...i was hoping the car could back up all my **** talking lol seriously though...speed being the factor here...i want it to impress not barely hang with the 5.7 stocker or even lightly modified. This is very discouraging to say the least.
If anyone ever gets to line up with one let me know the results...cause im really wanting this car. They let me test drive the srt8 charger (they wont test drive the 6.1 challenger) to feel the "power" (spite the dramatic weight differnce) and i have to admit...i ****** SLAMMED it and i wasnt really impressed. HOWEVER the rev on the 6.1 Challenger sounded sweet...small exhuast modifications and that thing would sound like a beast

U are looking at the edmonds video they also have there test on the 2007 zo6 vette on there and it ran a 12.2 I think if you cut a 1/2 second off there claim I think that is more accurate because those vettes run 11.70 or quicker all day. There was a challenger at our race track on labor day and it ran a best of 12.93 and it only had 600 miles on it. It sure seemed stock to me.
Most of the ones I've seen drag race are in the mid to high 13's...one I saw personally at the track ran a best of 13.7. The tuning does hurt the car from a dig, from a roll will be a different story . When my vette and srt8 charger were both stock, from a 50 roll, the charger hung with the vette to about 85 then the vette pulled it badly.
