Default Next step after Power Wheels for kiddos?

My 3yo has no problem managing his Power Wheels.
What's the next step up the ladder that I can start
to check out for him? Something more like a go-kart
(or maybe a real go-kart) and not a mini ATV. I need
to start training him for driving REAL karts later...

The 1yo has already found the gas pedal... whoop!

My dad and I built a go cart when I was a kid--might be a good bonding experience for you guys.

Thanks for the link, definitely the route that I need to take.

Although -building- one would give me a good reason to get a
welder and learn how to use it. That's not a bad idea, but I'm
sure it'd take me forever to figure out what I'm doing.

Just mod the powerwheel for now.

Real wheels, tires and a new electric drive system attached to the existing plastic body. More control and safer for now. Then just get a shifter kart and be done with it.

I have a six month old and one in the oven and I'm already shopping...

oh yeah, they have a full performance cat avail online...

I'm sure there are plenty of places online that sell geared up 6 volt motors. I'd change out the entire elec system to a 12 volt bat and high speed motors with a variable speed control.
