As much as I want Texas to win, I think Oklahoma has a better team this year

I agree for now, this weekend will be the answer though. I was impressed with how we handled Colorado but this will be the first big test for Muschamp and our young safeties.

I can't understand why you guys are so excited about seeing your team demolished.

At least, that's what has happened 6 out of the last 8 years.

I do admire your optimism

Why? My thoughts are VERY relevant to this thread as it is titled "Red River Shoot-out". Yours are not since this thread is NOT about bowl games.

Another thought for you sips to keep in mind: for the last 9 years in a row the higher ranked team going into this game won. And the last time OU was ranked #1 going into RRSO was 2003. We all know what the score was that year.

If the 'Horns don't have a running back rush for 100 yards they will lose.

Aw man I'm sorry guys. Your right, too much smack talk is bad karma for my team. Have fun at the RRSO and may the best team win (even though it will be OU, LOL)

I don't have a problem with Colt running the ball by design 4-5 times a game and when necessary on passing plays, but if they think they can ride his running ability past OU they're mistaken. OU's defense is far too fast and physical to let McCoy inflict any real damage, but I think Colt running the ball can and will force OU to stay at home defensively, which will open up other things.

Don't get this Texas defense confused with those of years past. Under first-year coordinator Will Muschamp, this year's version is noticeably more physical, intense and aggressive than we've seen in recent years. Muschamp employs a 4-3 front and Cover 2 shell as his base alignment, but where he goes from there is anyone's guess.

we run 3 different running backs... in that respect it is hard for them to have a 100 yard gain.

we are still looking for our stand out back, but hard to establish one as they are interchanged frequently.

LOL, where are you copy/pasting some of these posts from??

I would say something like 80% of teams out there employ that same base defense.

:ugh: no ****

the schemes and shifts he runs from the base defense is why he has been one of the best defensive coordinators in the country. you lack reading comprehension.
