Default Snap-on no longer makes the LS-1 Rachet??

I call it the LS1 ratchet, since its the FAR most used tool for me on these cars.

But I CANT find it in the new catalog. I dont want bending handles, I want a handle that hinges around the center of the head. And it has to be a shorty.

Dammit! I better never lose the one I have.

(its a 1/4 inch ratchet)

I am sure the snap on dealer that comes to my work has those. I see them everywhere.

It might not be in their catalog but I'd bet they still make it.

This only show this one on line (the handle sucks for tight spaces, IMO).

i found me another rachet
that is if they stil make it
that looks 100 times better than the Craftsman bent neck with the bending handle thing
can you lock the swiveling head in place, or is it always free?

You cna use those hex screws to tighten the resistance of the swivel... up to the point of almost locking it. Thats quite a bit of work though and Ive never done that or felt like I needed to.

Looks like the 3/8" drive SK 3870 http://www.sktools.com/pc_subsection...mp;ItemID=1628

or the 43875 which is similar but slightly thinner around the head.

I have two 3870's. One is about 6 years olde and one is over 40 years olde. I love them.

Too bad the 1/4" by SnapOn is disco...

jmd, I pride myself on having a very good selection of tools, I've never seen that type of rachet. Thanks for the link.

That would come in handy. Anyone found out if they still have it?

Well, I see the TH737 on SnapOns site, but they don't seem to have the TH747 on their site. Should have gotten a catalogue at thanksgiving from a relative who works for them.

The SK 43875 isn't listed on sktools.com. Maybe the local place still has one; they did a few months ago.

Visceral - Got a PN on that ratchet of yours?

Time2Kill - much obliged. I'm glad to see they have introduced both those numbers.

AZLS1 - I find my SK 3870 to be worth every penny.

Visceral, I feel your pain! Those are the best damn ratchets money can buy, especially when working on LS1's
I was looking at the latest snap-on catalog I have and found these P.N.'s

# TM738, 1/4 drive chrome handle ratchet (like the one in your pic)
# TM737 1/4 drive black plastic handle ratchet (I use this one)
# F748 3/8 drive chrome handle ratchet
# F747 3/8 drive black plastic handle ( got this one too)

All of these ratchets have the same head design like the one in your pic. They must have changed part numbers?? for some reason.
