Default IR 2340L5 vs Eaton 5hp 60/80gal compressor.

Compressor buying time. Both are 5hp compressors. Both can be had in 60 or 80 gallon tanks. Both are roughly the same price depending on where you buy. $1190 each.

Both single phase 40 amp.

IR = 1 year warranty

Eaton = 5 year warranty....big advantage.

Anyone use either compressor?????

I have a 2340L5.

You can get a second year of warranty out of the IR if you use their synthetic oil. I did, but I didn't need it. My compressor is about 2 1/2 years old now, still running great. No regrets.

The thing that did it for me was shipping. Shipping on the Eaton was over $200, and there was no shipping cost for the I-R (bought it from Grainger).

I have a coupon for 15% off air compressors at Tractor Supply, they may sell that model there, if you have a TSC local to you.
