Default Workshop/ Garage

My Dad and I have been building this shop for going on 5 years now I originally posted everything in the multimedia area but since we have this are now Ill move it here. It started off as two 20x20 frames that we put together and then braced it and sheeted and all the finish work. My dad was in construction for about 20 years mainly building metal buildings so we did almost all the work ourselves. We did not do all the electrical, or the AC system but we did adjust some things to our liking and we also had a company do the foundation. The main building is 40x20 and we just enclosed the lean too side which is 10x40.

here is a link to my original post

https://ls1tech.com/forums/multimedi...am-garage.html

and here is all the pictures from when we first had it sheeted.

This weekend we just cleaned and got organized mostly we built a shelf in the back to hold things and then started moving things out of the main shop into the addition. My dad is going to try and finish the ceiling during the week and then the scaffolding can finally come out. Next Saturday we are planning on painting the interior and then the week after hopefully another coat on the floor.

Updated pictures

Thanks guys

This weekend i was sick bad on saturday my dad did get the white paint on and today we painted the navy blue stripe and my dad will paint the lower half cowboys gray. were trying to figure out where to put a Dallas Cowboys star also i was thinking the doors although the back wall would be nice.

next week we hope to clean the floor and decide wether to prep it for another coat or leave it how it is.

Also finshed the herculiner on my bike rack for the truck came out pretty good. I also cleared my new SLP SS Grill planning on wetsanding it next weekend and then putting it on the SS.

Simply awesome man. Keep the pics coming.

Planning on putting a lift?

Do you have a ballpark number on what you've spent on the building?

we do have plans to extend the roof line forward 20 feet along with the slab which would work for a lift. it will mostly be a carpentry shop but some wrenching when need along with half the storage will be a makeshift spray booth.

My dad has about 5k in the foundation and the structure then 2k for the AC system and figure another 3-4k for electrical, drywall, doors, and all the little things. so around 10k and you can have one of your own we did all the work oursleves with the help of some friends when needed except for the electrical, foundation and some of the drywall

yeah it makes a difference doing all the work yourself I would say my dad has about 15K total over the last 5-6 years in the extra 5 K is all the little stuff and he also bought some new tools to go in the shop.

Today we had a side job to do in the morning and in the afternoon a friend of my dad installed teh garage door for the storage area and we moved everything out of the shop and cleaned the rest of the floor. got some pictures with my honda and my dads Sierra in the shop while i was changing oil. Tomorrow morning we will mop the floor one more time and mask off the walls and hoefully my uncle will come and spray another coat of epoxy on the floor.
