Default making sold motor mounts?

I want to make my own solid motor mounts since its pretty straight forward and simple enough to do. I have built several turbo kits for V6 camaro's so im not a Newb to fabrication. I got the welder, tools etc to get the job done...

now, my question is has anyone else made their own? Reason I ask is Im wondering the specs of them without taking my stock ones off and copying them in replacement with the solid ones.

Im thinking about the Spohn design...pretty straight forward. exactly like this...

Are you trying to save money? or do you just want to make a pair?
Props to you if you make a pair! i would also just afrade they might crack.
Wouldn't suprise me if Spohn uses some high tensile strength metal also.

You are bolting it to an aluminum block, so the mount is not going to be the first thing to break. In fact, I would think using a more ductile steel would be the way to go.

Urethane mounts are pretty solid and don't move much, but do give some cushion againts sudden shock (i.e. cracks)

You must have a pretty good reason for wanting to go solid.

my reason is with my MS3 cam and everthing, the engine rocks so much that my headers are banging on ****, welds are cracking on my exhaust since I have it going over my spohn adjustable torque arm that doesnt have the 3" Y pipe cross member on it etc...

before my cam, nothing hit...now is rocks so much on the stock mounts my headers are banging my K member and I can feel it in my floor board and its rather annoying.

Put some urethanes in it, you'll be happy. Solids will beat you to death. I don't even like them in a race car, but all I've ever done is weld plates inside to support the through bolt sleeves.

I have Spohn solid motor mounts and I can tell you that a poly TRANNY mount will affect noise, vibration and harshness far more than solid motor mounts, so much so that I run solid motor mounts with a factory rubber tranny mount(and I've tried both). Nothing moves, less noise in the cab.

My 2 cents.
