Default hooking up compressor in new shop

I got the new shop done a couple months ago and need to run the line for the air compressor to the hose reels. I intend on using 1/2" polyethlene tubing and pushlock fittings. Mcmaster car has the tubing for .20 a foot and the fittings are 4-5 bucks each. Has anyone used this type of setup?

I used PEX tubing and love it. I bought 100' of it for $19, so that sounds about right and the fittings were around $4-8 as well. It's nice because I was able to make nice radius's with it using simply a hair dryer to heat it up, bend it, then as it cools, it retains that curve. I put my 60 gallon compressor in the basement, then ran the line into the garage. Best thing I did for my garage next to putting in the lift.

Were the fittings 3/8 or 1/2"?
